Why I am now a full-fledged Hillary Clinton fan

It's not because I believe all the promises she made last night. I'm way way too experienced to believe such promises. I know enough about marketing and commercials to recognize one when I hear one. And I know that those conventions are designed to market the candidates. But what they're selling and how they're selling it speaks to me.

I came away seeing a woman who has done some really dumb things in her life but who hasn't? I believe she sees what she did wrong and has learned lessons. And that's what I expect from people, including politicians - to learn from experience.

The motto, stronger together, speaks directly to how I see the world. It is the basis America was found on, the reason we fought a Civil War, World War II, the Cold War and so forth. When Democrats emphasized "WE the people", that was correct - it's a bedrock of American values enshrined in the founding documents.

When Democrats emphasized love, optimism, patriotism, family and hard work they were emphasizing and promoting the religious underpinning of America - ideals that are my ideals.

When Hillary quoted the Methodist faith statement “Do all the good you can, for all the people you can, in all the ways you can, as long as ever you can.” she was speaking to my ideals.

When first Cory Booker and then Hillary Clinton spoke the words, they were speaking my highest ideals “In America, love always trumps hate”

This election is about an existential choice between an optimistic if hard path to the future or a fear-promoting candidate who claims to be the savior who will ride a white horse into Washington and single-handedly solve all of our problems. I choose optimism not pessimism; I choose hope not fear; I choose someone who pays her bills not stiffs people; I choose a woman of faith; I choose one who holds up our motto "E pluribus unum"; I choose someone who I believe will move us in the direction of the promise of the Great Seal, novus ordo seclorum - New Order of the Ages.

In seriousnessome though I agree with you. I understand Hillary has many flaws but I still damn well believe she is more honest than Trump, and more likely to protect progress we've made for women and minorities. Especially considering the choices she'd make for SCOTUS justices as opposed to Trump.

Well said. I have a new-found respect for her, myself. I was not a fan of hers for a long time. But the more I learn about her and the more I see her, the more good I'm noticing from her. She's become much more human in my eyes. I respect her achievements, too. Wow, that woman has done a lot.

Full fledged?
Dang....I don't have that for any candidate.
I'm not on the fence.....but I'm standing near it.
You only have one vote. You can't give 65% of your vote to one candidate and 35% to the other. Whoever you vote for you are going to vote for them 100%. Like it or not.

NC seems to flip back and forth between red and blue for president's elections. We're like a sunspot. I predict blue this year.

I take it she wasn't your state senator.

I have two reasons why I'm supporting Hillary.
First, I value certainty over uncertainty. With Hillary, she has solid positions on the issues. I know she will work with and within the system. Though I disagree with her on many issues, at least I know what her stance is on them. But Trump supports contradictory positions on the issues. I can't figure out what he stands for.

Second, she has stronger and more relevant work experience than him. She's been a senator and a cabinet officer. She knows how things work. There won't be a long period of her trying to figure out how to do her duties. But Trump has to learn he just can't say "you're fired" or personally insult every person that disagrees with him. He doesn't have a clue how to work as a government official.

can't show you my ballot but I will guarantee I'm not voting for the Hillary. Good enough?

pictures are worth a thousand words.
Good enough for what? Qualifying as common sense? No. Any idiot can vote.
As for your picture's words, their quantity is far more vast than their quality.
