"Immoral Sex Acts Taught In Elementary School?"

Me Myself

There is so much misinformative facepalm material there I feel I want to puke all the nonsense that my brain just had to register

Oh, yes, there are indeed people that ridiculous.

Funny how when it's a "good cause" flagrant lies are quite acceptable.

"Teaching homosexual acts to elementary students"--yeeeah, riiiigght.

Why just sex, Pegg? Why not history, chemistry and math, as well? What's special about sex?
Are you advocating universal home schooling?

Click on the above and let me know what you think.

This is my first thought after I throw up in a bucket....

Utterly and blatantly malevolent.

THIS is the kind of crap full of lies, hostility, bullying, and harassment directed at our nation's GLBTQ youth. THIS attitude is the breeding ground for the loneliness, the browbeating from peers, parents, siblings, teachers, politicians, and pastors that GLBTQ gets and encourages the extreme self-loathing, the beatings, the self-mutilation, the suicides, and the murders all in the name of "protecting" kids.

I am outraged!

*breathes*

Time to educate again.

I don't know what you guyz are so upset about. I plan to sign the petition.
It's a breath of fresh air to see such a courageous document show the truth,
advocate wholesome values, & advance God in our classrooms. Homosexuals
should be forcibly cured so that they don't infect our society with their wicked
works, such as, well coiffed hair, catchy show tunes, snappy clothing, tastefully
decorated homes, & their endless prancing around while smirking about destroying
the western world!

Agreed. Sex education is part biology, part psychology. It doesn't mean we should teach the Kama Sutra in high school with a "lab" held in the gym. It simply means teaching kids what every kid who lives on a farm knows from experience. Basic reproductive biology. It should be age appropriate. A six year old doesn't need to know what vulva looks like, but girls who are menstruating certainly should be aware of what is happening to their own body and what it means.

Part of me would like to headbutt in the forehead anyone who falls for such a obviously exagerated and untrustable link like that one.

I mean "an america based on sexual promiscuity" ??

What law on anywhere is leaving anyone excempt from punishment after sexual harrassment or assault?? Are they ******* stupid or downright lyers?

Seyorni raises a good point. Why should sex be treated any differently than any other subject?

this thread obviously isnt about 'physical' education. I have no problem with that.

But being taught about sex by some teacher in a classroom is inappropriate because the values of that teacher may not be the same as the values of the childs family and for that reason I know i certainly wouldnt want my kids learning about sex from anyone but myself.

Yes, universal home schooling is the way of the future ;)

No, seriously, i just dont want some stranger teaching my kids 'their' view of how sex should be treated and what sex is all about. And that is basically what sex education teachers have free reign to do if they are the ones teaching our kids about sex. Why is there view and their opinion more important then mine? And they likely will not hold the same views about sex that I hold and therefore they may teach my kids that they should experiment with sex while im teaching the opposite. That could be confusing for kids.

Yes, I agree that it should be...but when so many don't do it, the schools have had to fill the gap.

When a speech student in one of my classes did a speech on the importance of sex ed (in a community with a LOT of people opposed to anything but "Say no till you're married"), I asked students to close their eyes so they couldn't see how others replied and asked them to raise a hand if their parents had told them about sex.

And about 1/3 of a class of 25 raised their hands. This was in the early 1980's! Those who volunteered comments said they'd gotten what they knew from their friends.

The school library had one book that was about 30 years old and said virtually nothing but how lovely waiting until you were married was.

I'd bet that the numbers of parents who talk to their kids about sex hasn't changed a whole lot since then.

I don't think sex ed is about this at all.
What I recall is that it's about the biology, so that kids don't rely
upon bad info & make costly mistakes when nature takes its course.

because sex isnt just any other subject.

it can cause a lot of problems if it is misused or abused. It needs to be dealt with carefully not like its 'just another' subject.

biology is fine, physical education is fine

but this thread is about homosexuality meaning sexual acts .... its not simply about physical education. I remember my sex education classes at school being about reproduction. Homosexuality does not lead to reproduction, therefore it is not simply about biology.

maybe someone should be teaching the parents how to talk about sex openly and not like there is anything wrong with it.
