Why Will I Be Punished?

Kilgore Trout

As an atheist, obviously, I adhere to no religious doctrine or dogma. According to your religion, will I suffer some sort of punishment for this stance? If so, what will my punishment be? In your own words, what exactly will it be that I will be punished for? And, in your opinion, will I be deserving of this punishment?

You will be punished for your sins. Lying, cheating, hate, pride, adultry, fornication, and murder. You will not be punished for having no religous doctrine or for not performing religious tasks.

As God is the only one who can judge, and as the only one who really knows you heart (even better than you do), it would be foolish and sinful on my part to even try to say what will happen to you.
I think of Saul before he became Paul, as he was the enemy of God, and in a flash the next minute he was a friend of God.

However, if you are found wanting when May 21st comes around, you will suffer great pain for 5 months, and then October 21st 2011 you will simply disappear.
The next question would be what would cause you to be found wanting on that day? If you were not chosen by God before he created this world, you will not go to heaven. It is as simple as that.

Impossible, or you are Jesus.

How is it impossible not to do those things that were listed? As far as what sins are: How do you know if you are sinning? How do you know for sure what is a sin and what isn't? The answer is: You Don't Know. I know plenty of people that believe lying is a sin but yet they do it anyway... even if they highly believe in that religious practice.

Ah, so you simply dismiss the possibility that people could not do those things, as that would nullify your belief system. So, the truth of the matter is irrelevant, as believing nobody could do such a thing is more important than whether someone has, and what the ramifications of that would be.

Thank you for your response.

Certainly not. Although I guess you might seek some if you really feel like it.

No way. We all are only guilty of ignorance.

AFAIK, for most Christians, your "punishment" for non-belief is separation from God, and you're suffering it now. You'll suffer even more when you discover your spirit will live on eternally but barred from paradise. I know this because I grill my Christian friends from time to time. None of the normal Christians believe we're going to burn in hell. Pretty much, we pity one another. They pity me for my alienation from heaven and I pity them from their alienation from earth.

You'll be tied up and smacked around while I walk all over you with my spiked heels cursing your name and your very existence.

You deserve this punishment because you're so damn cute for a deranged stalker. :foryou:

Are you kidding me? Some people get this kind of treatment for free? I've been paying for this sort of thing and now you are telling me that I can get it for free?

Man, I'm such an sucker.

Uhhhh, since this has come up, I guess I should ask . . . What is the religious punishment for paying a woman to tie me up, smack me around and then walk all over me with spiked heels?

It is not the Christian's perogative to judge others. And there are many reasons why someone turns away from God, including the wicked acts of others or unanswered questions about God. Having said that, each of us has a responsibility to come to know God, and the Bible tells us the outcome for those who oppose God.
Romans 1:18-32 reveals God's wrath is being revealed against those who continue to deny God's existence, calling them inexcusable. 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 states the future for unrighteous ones: "to you who suffer tribulation, relief along with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels in a flaming fire, as he brings vengeance upon those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus. These very ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction from before the Lord and from the glory of his strength." People who continue to choose to ignore the overwhelming evidence for God's existence and fail to accept his rulership will not survive the end of this wicked system 'at the revelation of Christ', whether they call themselves atheists or not. Obviously, anyone destroyed by God will be deserving of destruction.

According to the Bible if you don't accept the "story" of Jesus and believe with all of your heart that it is true, for no real reason except your told to or else, then you will be sent to the lake of fire as Jesus puts it.

Basically it is like this. Imagine your favorite aunt or uncle. Before you knew them or met them you likely didn't know or believe in them with all of your heart for no real reason. What did they do when you met them? They likely welcomed you, gave you food, made you feel comfortable, and treated you as a guest. Well, according to the Bible Jesus isn't putting up with that ********! If he was your favorite Aunt or Uncle instead he would backhand you into hell for your non belief in him!!! Because God is hardcore and he murders people and that is how it is! Because you have a penis! And you like chicks! And you like chicks with that penis and God is tired of all of your ****!

But he loves you bro.... He ******* loves you.

It determines what you consider punishment - you certainly will not ever be able to find anything you are not looking for. Some find ignorance quite rewarding. With ignorance you will never have to deal with any truth you find uncomfortable.

ROFL - it's IMPOSSIBLE to avoid "lying, cheating, hate, pride, adultry, fornication, and murder"? I had no idea Christians set the ethical bar so low.
I am sure he means no one is perfect and has done something wrong sometime in their life and not that everyone cheats and murders.
