See, Fatihah, it is one thing to have faith in the Quran as the Word of God. It is my understanding that surrendering to God's Will comes naturally from such. So be it. It is not my way, but it can certainly be a marvelous and constructive way for those who have the right aptitude.
It is something else entirely to deny one's own capability for acting and understanding the world we live in and how it works.
Being a Muslim does not make one perfect. It does not render one incapable of harming others, of insulting, of commiting mistakes of various kinds. I don't think I'm disrespecting anyone by saying so, but if you disagree then the rest of this post will be worthless to you.
I may be wrong, but it seems to be that both you and 301ouncer are making too big an issue of the fact that you are Muslims. It certainly looks like you expect to be recognized as above error or reproach simply due to that fact. Both Badran and .lava seem to have been accused of "slander" simply because they pointed out the harm that you have been causing.
Let me tell you, Fatihah, that before being Muslim you are Human. You can and will commit mistakes. Maybe it is somehow different in Islam (I doubt it), but far as I can tell everyone ends up being a better person and a better religious practicioner when he learns to recognize his own mistakes and to take the leap of faith needed to believe that he can learn to no longer insist on them.
It takes some courage, but it also brings nice, legitimate rewards. And it is a true act of faith, far more than simply claiming to have faith in some scripture or other could ever be.
Surely there is no need in Islam to believe that each and every non-Muslim is a foe to be fought until converted, now is there?
