When I say "better" I mean in every conceivable way. We Americans are naturally superior to non-Americans in every way.
Yeah, but it's not really and "ethnic" or "racial" thing. Anyone who can move to America can become better then everyone elseOooo. oooo. I know this quote... Is it Eichmann, Berlin,1942 -- With American sibstituted for German?
Universal health care (And despite popular notions the right-wing likes to propagate, if you don't like the quality of the care you can just get private health care), we're more democratic then you because more then two parties can get into our parliament (Because unlike America, NZ recognizes that political opinion is not as black and white as liberal and conservative), we're ranked higher in "Least Corrupt Governments" (#1) and our death by firearms rate is incredibly low.
I think this attack is ridiculous. We live in a free market society not a socialist society, universal health care is the first step at what makes America money, capitalism.
Although our party system is flawed, not all canidates from either side of the aisle are neo-cons or militant liberals. View points vary theres a party standard, but our elected officals are unique in their viewpoints on specfic issues.
Our guns laws are a matter of opinion. Our founding fathers saw it fit that we could bear arms in order to protect ourselves. Granted some people take that to the next level and alot of firearm deaths are caused by accidents, i.e. hunting.
I realize that our government is corrupt, but what are these U.N. stats you speak of and where are the stats complied from that make your government least corrupt?
Now back to the spirt of the thread. We are superior to you in everyway!
Oooo. oooo. I know this quote... Is it Eichmann, Berlin,1942 -- With American sibstituted for German?
It's a language issue...'You say 'You pretentious wanker', they hear,'We feel inferior to you, oh great and mighty USA'. It's a bit like talking to the dog, really.i'm assuming all of these as sarcastic, because speaking as a "Brit" i have no inferiority complex to the US...

I don't consider myself inferior or superior to any other nationality, since nationality is merely a human invention, we're all the same animal at the end of the day. We all have our strengths and weaknesses - as every nation has it's great points in history as well as its shames and blunders.
I love my dog too, but I'm equally certain he puts his own spin on what I say to him.:yes:As a dog lover, I'm a bit offended by that.
you know, these arguments about which nation is better than which, who defeated who in which war and why...it's all such circular nonsensical talk. Take WWII for instance, why the hell does anyone try and claim they were the only important factor in that war? I think the only way to view the war is like looking at a machine - certain cogs in the machine might well be bigger than others, but the whole machine would not have functioned if one of the cogs were removed.
Example - Operation Overlord - UK and Imperial forces attacked half the beaches - no british troops would have meant american forces being spread more thin.
Battle of Britain, 1940 - the battle americans never mention when they go off on these rants about how they saved bus - before you so rashly claim we couldn't stand up to Hitler, just you remember that in 1940, before you were even in the war, we were alone on the western front fighting and defeating Hitlers airforce - our victory in that battle drove Hitler to give up his invasion plans of the UK, and he proceeded to his disastrous Russian campain, Operation Barbarossa. Let us also not forget Montgomery's stunning victories in North Africa, and our victories against the German navy.
So you see, there was a hell of a lot of other war going on, and each country played its part. That any one country would try to claim that it was the sole reason for saving another is frankly absurd. All this talk about British having an inferiority complex...what?! I think the problem here lies with you my friend, since I absolutely do not have an inferiority complex. I don't consider myself inferior or superior to any other nationality, since nationality is merely a human invention, we're all the same animal at the end of the day. We all have our strengths and weaknesses - as every nation has it's great points in history as well as its shames and blunders.
Britain was a superpower, arguably a superpower that exercised far greater power than the US does today - we're talking about the difference between influence and jurisdiction - we had direct control over almost half the world, as well as the influence that came with that - our military crushed all manner of opposition and enemy and, and UK foreign policy shaped much of the world. Those were very different times. We crushed many enemies, and yet indeed encountered defeat, as America has also in the past few decades - look at Vietnam.
It's easy to get all coarse, mindlessly and blindly slamming an entire nation for this, that and the other - but such an easy task bears no fruit unfortunately, so...just shut the hell up and say something useful
That's kinda funny. (psst - welfare checks are largely socialist)Universal healthcare is no more socialist then welfare checks are.

What does a country's military prowess have to do with weather it's a better country than another?
I agree. I think SOME americans cant inerpret what someone is trying to say..."I hate you!" They think "God save america!"
