I'll never get to retire. Those days are gone. There is no such thing as retirement for common folks anymore unless your filthy rich.
Not the filthy rich only. Those that served in the armed forces can retire with ease after twenty years. But I stopped counting on Social security being a thing when I was in my teens, and joined the military to prepare accordingly.
