I'm a sap, but these are some movies I have genuinely loved over the years.

1. August Rush - Yes, a bit sappy, but I love the themes in the movie. Have a box of Kleenex ready for the ending.
2. A Perfect World - A quirky, Clint Eastwood movie that is perhaps Kevin Costner's best work to date.
3. Rob Roy - Arrrggghhhhh. Scotland, the land where men are men and the sheeps be nervous.
4. Heat - Val Kilmer, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Jon Voight, Tom Sizemore and President David Palmer of 24 (aka - Dennis Haysbert) - ALL in one movie. WOW. Awesome firefight scene after the bank heist. O.O
5. A beautiful mind - based on a true story. A truly inspiring movie. (Be sure to watch the "making of" in the special features section of the DVD.)

(6. Scent of a woman - Al Pacino again, with one of his most memorable performances.)
(7. Painted Lady - Written for and starring Helen Mirren. A wonderful movie I have seen perhaps a dozen times. It never gets old.)

and for good reason. I tend to shy away from "classic" movies before the 70's because the acting was so terribly stilted - as a rule.

My dad used to narrate some of its parts, but yeah, I haven't watched it yet. I must give it a try.
