To choose a dharmic religion

If you had to convert to a dharmic religion, which religion would you choose?
Sikhism, Hinduism, Jainism or Buddhism?

If I had to convert, my nature would be to rebel and reject them all. I'd still be Buddhist, but would probably be even more of a hermit about it.

Allow me to correct your bits of misunderstanding point by point, friend Aup.

1. Ask Bahais if they consider Bahaollah to be the God. Krishna is God himself as per Hindu belief.

So Buddhistws reject you and you reject Buddhists. "To me my belief, and to you yours". What is the commonality?
As for peace and brotherhopod, I do not know who really means it and who is faking it.

Late to the thread, but wanted to point out that of the 4, Hinduism is by far the most diverse, followed by Buddhism. So when the choice is Hinduism, it would really mean which sect of Hinduism.

In my view the jump from an Abrahamic faith to a dharmic one is HUGE. Very different paradigms.

You can call yourself a Hindu and/or Buddhist all day long. Most of "variety of Hindus and Buddhists" are unaffected by that. I certainly am. That said, don't expect too many to accept your claim to their religion as valid. I certainly don't.

Yamas and niyamas, codified by Patanjali, are the restraints (don'ts) and observances (dos) of the Hindu religion. They're considered the first two steps of yoga, which is the process to merger or closeness with God, not to be confused with the western stretching exercises wrongly termed yoga today.

Why should it affect you? I don't expect that at all.

As to being Hindu or Buddhist, I overstated what I was trying to say. What my position actually is, is that I accept Hindu and Buddhist as valid. They are stages of the religion of God in a particular part of the world.
