Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live

How far do we as humans take this creed? Two thousand years have past since Jesus' supposed life and death, and still we have people being burned alive.

WARNING: This video is incredibly difficult to watch. I Do Not recommend it to those with weak stomachs or who are easily upset.

Five People - Witchcraft Suspects Slowly Burned Alive in Kenya | Best Gore

Plenty of this stuff happens today, in the 21st century. A few years ago, there was a call by two pastors for the military to napalm all Wiccans, and Bush himself even declared that he didnt think Paganism should have been recognized by the military. And most of the witch hunts and burning occur to people who arent even witches! They are just accused and unjustly beat and killed.

Atrocities happen all across the world, and are not restricted to one religious philosophy or another. Why does this still happen? Do the prophets of the major religions not condemn violence and murder? Why do people abuse the name of their Divine to justify violence, murder, genocide, rape, abuse?

Why do other practitioners let them do this? Why do we allow those who knowingly abuse the name of the Divine get away with what they do?

Right to "He who is without sin cast the first stone"...

Why do we allow those who knowingly abuse the name of the Divine get away with what they do?
Unfortunately, I cannot stop anything occurring in Africa from happening.

we have a hadeeth say that " no one has the right to torture by fire except the God of fire"

witchcraft is a bad thing, but first we have to urge those witches to repent , yet, if they insist to do sorcery, only judges who are in charge may punsih them.

However, no one can accept punishing people by burning.

We don't.

In Hinduism, Arthara-Veda is mostly magic spells and blessings. Indeed, many many siddhar are supposed to be able to do magic, too.

In Sikhism, a Sikh is forbidden from believing in magic (among other things such as ancestor-worship, fasting, and rituals). They're also forbidden from harming people.

 Witchcraft is not a 'bad thing'.

There is nothing more or less intrinsically bad about "witchcraft"
then there is any other religion/belief system/practice.

PEOPLE, however, can be a "bad thing".
PEOPLE can USE THINGS in "bad" ways.
Using them for example to JUDGE OTHERS simply
for having a different religion/belief system/practice,
one they, or their "holy book", or their "God", doesn't like, or "approve of",
even though the "wicked bad accused":sarcastic
have not actually DONE A SINGLE 'BAD' THING TO ANYONE.

If only people could possibly learn how to LIVE AND LET LIVE.

Fire, lashing, stoning... whatever...
the "method" of moronic and UNJUST punishment
makes no freaking difference.
Punishment for WHAT?
For being different, is what.
Maybe YOU should be punished
for "witch hunting".
Stalking the world under cast and spell
of YOUR OWN SUPERSTITIOUS RELIGIOUS TABOOS.

You have missed the ENTIRE point.
It is an EVIL INJUSTICE to set yourselves up,
by *ehem* "virtue" of YOUR OWN RELIGION,
as "judges" of anyone else.

Mind YOUR OWN *********** BUSINESS.

That is the point.

I urge you to repent of your evil superstition.
Now!

Repent for what? How can they repent if they've done nothing? Should they lie to escape punishment?

What's punishing a "witch" do besides making your society a fear filled and unhappy place.

But that's the point. They aren't "abusing" the name of the divine since it specifically recommends these practices in their (supposedly) divine sacred texts. "Thous Shalt not suffer a Witch (Sorceress) to live". If this is a commandment from an omnipotent God, and one to which you have absolute faith, then you are required to kill them, or kill people gathering sticks on the sabbath, or disrespecting their parents, or adultery, or apostasy (In the middle east). These Theists can't point to their texts as the source of their morality since even a cursory reading will show you that that are absolutely immoral throughout a large portion of their lines. Remove religion from the equation and you will have morality.

Are you actually a witch (supernatural) or is it simply a label?

Why does this still happen?

Same reason it always has. People need to have a scapegoat to persecute. Whether it's Witches, Homosexuals, Jews etc doesn't matter. People can be united and manipulated quite easily through hatred.

Witchcraft is an interesting scapegoat, simply because anybody can be accused of witchcraft. This makes it incredibly useful for those who seek power and influence as there doesn't have to be any truth to the accusations whatsoever.

If you're interested, google "Satanic Panic" for a bit of info about America/UK's fairly recent witch-hunts. Of course, people weren't killed in these hunts, but many families had their children taken from them.

what the hell kind of language is "suffer a witch to live" anyway?'

What does "suffer a witch/to live" mean, grammatically speaking?

I don't understand. DO WE have freedom of Religion, or NOT?

It is a serious question.

sad to say, based on geographic location you do not have freedom.

I blame ignorance and religious brainwashing as well as primitive living for these horrible crimes to humanity.

I am a Witch, it is not just a label.

But if God is omnipotent and is a loving God, then why kill that which comes from Him? Why even attempt to judge what is right and wrong?

Also, I dont think that no religion would make things any better. People would just find another excuse to do the terrible things they do. Maybe they would be more honest about why they do things, but I hesitate to say that would be case, since humans are notorious liars.

And, no one has said anything about the fact that large portions of text has been thoroughly mistranslated. For instance, it has been said that "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" should actually be "thou shalt not suffer a prisoner or poisoner to live."

Or so they say.
