Things '60s Kids Did That Would Horrify Us Now

I was thinking more about his personal circumstances where he ran. Specifically his 1992 campaign since I do believe that was the second time he ran for President.
I am not deeply familiar with his story, but I do recall him from occasional news stories. I thought he ran for president a number of times with no real chance of winning.

I think there was some question about his having been born in the US.

My holidays were often spent (in the UK) whilst at stationary caravan sites (usually at the coast), and where exploring the surrounding country on a hired bike was most often done - plus visiting many of the attractions that usually were nearby (perhaps even seeing a dead whale on the beach). Play at other times involved breaking several rules regarding entry to war-damaged buildings (after WWII), cinemas, or swimming pools, or trespassing on railway lines, including electrified ones. Joining the Scouts probably made me more law-abiding, and expanded my repertoire as to doing much more - and these activities probably being a lot safer too. I also spent much time out on my bike at weekends exploring as far as I could get in one day without being killed and can only recall one accident (just to myself) which required me to cycle home with bent front forks, and which was exceedingly tricky. Much other life was as per Searle - but without the girls: :D

I loved the 90's... you could turn on TV and see cartoons full of pop culture references. Now when you turn on TV, you see Kevin Can Wait, Kevin Is For Real, etc.

Far left of the scale socialism and communism, dictionary definition socialism and communism, Bernie Sanders socialism and communism, or like center right Biden socialism and communism?
I think he's implying any and all left of the current RNC.

It all goes over my head somewhat :) . This probably isn't the particular thread for it, but basically, if Biden was very far left, or communist, I really think he would have done more in some areas. Like cancel student loan debt already. And use more than empty words when the states banned certain trans things. I see him as a sort of lesser of evils guy who's probably a lot like Trump but opposes him for views and popularity, and dressed up in a different package. I think he could be a better leader for me than Trump, but not necessarily a better leader than Trump for every individual on this forum. Now the real confusing part that I'll have to study a bit more is whether communism achieves a sort of authoritarianism similar to the far side of the right. I'm not the resident communism expert. But still, I find it hard to say he traveled so far left it's an extreme and that's why he's fudging some policies and hopes of the left. I see him as someone whom, if you asked him whether he preferred religious freedom vs. LGBTQ+ freedoms on political issues, he'd be torn and probably wouldn't have an answer. While I think much of the left would (probably) side with LGBT+ freedoms pretty fast based on their understanding of some issues.

So for the right, I'm not sure if he's a better President for you than Trump. But he might be a much better President for you than if when the blue side got elected, if it would have been Bernie Sanders. I really think Bernie would have already been taxing the CEOs to get us free healthcare if he could.

Also, Biden may support socialism but he just wants to spend a bunch of money on infrastructure rather than follow more socialist ideas like universal income and monthly recurring stimulus checks, so far. And the whole thing about the child tax credit boost and such says he might value the family unit and put emphasis on it like a lot of Republicans do, provided he had much involvement in that.

That being said, tis a joke/story thread so I guess I'll say....

The 80's mean a lot to me and so do the early 90's. I was born just barely into the 80's but a lot of cartoons I watched are I guess from the 80's due to being on the air a few years when I finally watched them. People see me as being a bit heavily into 80s and 90s culture, sometimes. I like video games and an 8 bit / electronica type of music quite often, too
