One of the things I admire about you is that you're so open. Openness often means vulnerability. In your offline world, C1, are you as open as you are online?
Yes, I actually am. I see no reason not to be. Not being open would be like not being myself or, in my opinion would be like being ashamed of myself or who I really am, which I'm not. I'm proud of myself and I love who I am, so I see no reason not to share that with othrs.

If so, do you find that makes you vulnerable?
Yes, perhaps it does, I can understand how it would, but at the same time, I think I'm more hard in my offline life. I'm open to the point that I let others know all about me, whatever they want to know about me, but I'm not one to easily let people in. I'm open about myself, but not where my emotions are concerned.

Is this a site where you feel freer to be yourself than, say, elsewhere on the internet?
I think I'm more myself on Myspace than I am here, but that's mainly because I couldn't care less what people on Myspace think about me. Here, however, I adore you all so much, that your opinions actually mean something to me. I think, though I am open here, I hide certain aspects of myself here, that I don't on Myspace.

If you could meet in the offline world three people from RF, besides myself, who would they be? And why?
Hmm..Definitely Becky because I can imagine we'd have a great time together. We seem to have a lot in common and I think we'd have a blast together.
Chrispy for sure because I'd love to take him to a concert. I think he'd be a lot of fun to go to a show and have a few beers with.
And....Wow, there's so many! Probably, if I had to choose only one more, it'd be PussyfootMouse. Everytime we talk I find we're more and more alike. I think she's an amazing woman and would just be so much fun to hang out with. That and I'd bring her to get a tattoo, haha.

One of my ex's was from Japan and had a grandfather who was recognized as such a good teacher that the Japanese erected a statue of him in a famous city park. The day we do something like that in North America for teachers is the day, I think, that our civilization can claim to have reached adulthood.
I completely and utterly agree with this. We put so much into pro athletes and politicians and such, when the real life heroes go unnoticed.

Do you enjoy all kinds of rock, then? Or are you mainly into one or another sub category?
I pretty much enjoy all kinds of rock. There are, of course, certain things I won't listen to, or won't even give a chance to (like Tool, no matter how many time Chrispy insists), but for the most part, I enjoy all of it. I do, however, listen to more Punk than anything. It's kind of my forte.

Was this planned or a tragic lawn mower accident?
One was planned, the other, actually, a hedgeclipper accident, not a lawnmower.

Do you see vegetarianism as a major part of your spiritual journey or is it something you do mostly for other reasons?
No, my vegetarianism has nothing to do with my spiritual journey. It's something I do because of my beliefs in animal "equality" (for lack of a better word). For a long time, before I became full vegetarian, I still ate meat, but wouldn't eat anything that gave birth to live young. Only chicken and fish for a few years. In my opinion, animals have just as much right to live in peace on this earth as we do, and just because we have the means or intelligence to exploit them and kill them for food (or leather, or clothing, or experiments), doesn't make them any less of a being and therefore are not ours to exploit.

In college, I met some folk from the Middle East who'd never expected to see women dressed as Westerners typically dress. Nice guys, but they weren't prepared for it, and thought all the women here were easy and promiscuous, if not actual prostitutes. Made for some interesting trips to the bars with them.
Heh! I can imagine. I understand this, it's just really annoying when you're one of those women who are looked at as if you were a prostitute. Especially considering I don't dress as scantily as a good majority of women (at least around here).

Good luck with that! Love's a wonderous thing. I think it's as much a way of seeing things, a way of looking, a perspective, as it is an emotion. Would you agree? Disagree?
It very much is. When you're in love, you feel that emotion in your heart, in your gut, but you also see things much differently. Love is blind, afterall.

Do you like abstract sculpture?
I certainly do. All forms of art appeal to me.

Can it reasonably be said that one reason you're such a good person to interview is that you have experience interviewing others?
This would make sense, yes. I understand what it takes to make a good interview. How to answer questions, and such, since I've been the one doing the interviews for years now, so yes, I can imagine there would be a correlation between the two. I think the fact that I'm not shy or closed is also a factor. I've nothing to hide.

What did you think of Picasso's choice in socks? Revolutionary? Burgeois? Or merely communist?
I think his choice in socks leans more to the Communist side than anything else.

It's a common rumor on RF that your copy of the Kama Sutra has your handwritten corrections in the margins. Is this true?
Yes, this is most definitely true. If only they'd let me publish my corrections, the intensity of things in bedrooms everywhere would improve so much. When you've had THIS much practice...

Would you marry an alien from outer space if there were no other way to save the earth?
Yes, I imagine I would. Especially if he was an attractive alien. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

What if the alien thought like George Bush?
Then perhaps I'd rethink my decision. Unless of course I could sew his lips together so I'd never have to hear him speak.

Do you always answer your phone when you possibly can? Or do you have certain things, such as supper, that you won't interrupt to take a call?
I actually despise talking on the phone. I quite often screen my phone calls and only answer them for certain individuals. For these certain people though, no, there's not many things that I won't interrupt for them.

What is your second biggest, most important to you life accomplishment to date?
No idea. Maybe going to college. Maybe receiving three letters by the time I graduated high school; one for English (theatre), one for academics, and one for orchestra (along with some (I think three) medals from Sole and Ensemble).

Before we get started here, I'd just like to mention, O Favorite Rainbow Niece, that I always enjoy talking with you. But I'm wondering this morning if you aren't a bit down? And if so, is that from working until 2 A.M. in your factory job last night, or from not taking those addictive meth pills your Trusty Uncle Sunstone has been foisting on you as sure fire medication for depression?

Back to your accomplishments: I'm impressed! I don't recall your having mentioned before you recieved six awards for your performance in high school! Can it be safely assumed your main motivation for achieving all those awards was to impress the captain of the cheerleaders whom you fell in love with on a whim when her cheerleader's skirt flounced prettily one Spring evening?

Moving along, how was your first year of college?

Do you attend the same college as the captain of your high school cheerleaders?

Is the campus architechture mostly old buildings or more modern ones?

Is there a thriving campus town full of bars, small stores and interesting restaurants?

Describe your second favorite professor and the course you took with him or her?

Was s/he a cheerleader captain when in high school?

Did you spend Holloween on campus, and if so, what was the celebration like?

...I hate counting. I do it much of the night at work. In fact, I have to count pans to make sure they are ten high, so my guess is I can count to ten many times in a row without being confused.

When you're counting pans, do you ever feel a moral imperative as an American to count them better than workers in other countries?

Are you a socialist then?

Is it possible then that you have no desire to be a captain of industry, a princess of merchants, O Mistress Of My Avuncular Heart?

[/B said:
not a merchant princess]Who has been the most important mentor in your life who was not a parent or relative?
Damn. I think it's a tie between my Stagecraft teacher in high school and my AP English teacher in high school. If I had to choose one, I'd go with my Stagecraft teacher from high school.

What were the two finest qualities you noticed in your Stagecraft teacher?

What were the three finest qualities s/he noticed in you and sought to bring out?

Was s/he a captain of the cheerleaders when in high school?

Then what was the basis of your rapport with him or her?

Steven Weinberg has said, "We may need to rely again on the influence of science to preserve a sane world." Do you think science can preserve social sanity? Why or why not?

I understand you are majoring in political science: Should small town dogs be allowed to vote in local elections on the grounds they know the candidates as well as anyone?

Without publicly ranking them, reveal to a candid world three of the five RF members you have learned the most from in your time on the Forum, and tell us what you learned from each!

Do you ever go snorkeling in your bathtub?

What about in the neighbor's bathtub?

I've been working on a historical novel for years (no kidding, I think I started some time between '96 and '98). Any advice on how you actually get one finished? I'm not in it for money either (obviously!) though getting it published would be nice if I ever finish it. Admittedly the first couple of years were mostly research and writing a synopsis (the research took a long time - not many resources on medieval Romanian history in English), but I seem to have spent the last 5 years or so writing and rewriting the same few chapters. It never ends!

James

It's not as easy as it sounds, is it? :D

I'm afraid I don't really have any advice, because there was never really a method to my madness. Sometimes I'd only write a page or two a day, other times I'd be up to 5 in the morning because I just HAD to finish this chapter before I went to bed.

I suppose the only thing I could tell you is that you can't force it. The spirits of creativity don't work to your schedule, you have to work to theirs. More importantly, I suppose, is that you have to enjoy your material and your characters. If you're not happy with the elements of your story, it's very difficult to get motivated.

Oh, it's nothing amazing. Certainly not publishable. It's a caricature of prejudice in the modern world using the vehicle of a post-America setting and a new sub-species of humans which were the result of the war that brought it's downfall.

That was my first and I'm currently working on my second. I do it for fun, not for money, though if I could get published one day, I'd be a very happy vulpine.

Is there some chance the new sub-species of humans votes Republican?

What's the general topic of your second novel, the one you are working on now between sexual escapades?

Have you thought of publishing your first novel on the internet?

Is it true your parents named you after the French word for the sound amorous wombats make when in heat?

How old were you when you first accepted that you were gay?

Is it your impression that growing up gay in Australia might be more or less difficult than growing up gay in the UK?

What about growing up gay in America? More or less difficult than Australia?

Do you like to travel? If so, what's your dream destination?

There is no happiness to be found in wealth unless you're happy without it, even though private jets would be pretty cool.

That sounds very wise! Do you have concrete plans to become rich someday? If so, would you mind divulging them to us?

They can, indeed. But they have to work at it and avoid therapists.

Do you have a low opinion of therapists, then?

Have you ever been to a therapist, and if so, could you share what that experience was like for you, except the part where s/he threw out their professional standards and seduced you?

How much of a mystery are men to you?

Are you a mystery to yourself?

What's the dirtiest trick you've ever pulled on someone that you wouldn't mind a million internet users to know?

Did they deserve it? Why?

Favorite song?

Could you post the lyrics to it here?

Do you feel that because you love who you are, you can love others better?

Can you share an example of where that's been true?

Do you ever have crazy days when you feel in love with everyone and everything?

C1, I'm sure that as a co-owner of a magazine that does interviews, you realize readers these days want more than a superficial look at someone: They want to know the whole person. In the spirit of getting to know you on every level, could you now tell us your favorite insect?

Has that been your favorite through out your life or did you have another favorite before that one?

Did you ever want to glue a tiny little transmitter to your current favorite insect and then follow it around the house with a radio reciever as if you were a field biologist following wild wolves who had radio collars on them?

Thank you, C1! That concludes the ground breaking in-depth part of our interview. No doubt the networks will want to pick it up and broadcast it.

What first attracted you to Paganism and witchcraft?

How do you see yourself making spiritual progress through your religion?

How much of a mystery to you are men?

How much of a mystery are you to yourself?

Is vulnerablity the price we pay to love? Can we genuinely love if we keep our defenses up?

All forms of art appeal to me.

Besides sex, music, and writing, what's your favorite art?

Do you practice it yourself?

Is it part of your spiritual path?

What are you wearing right now?

If I role up my favorite pencil drawing, stick it in my computer drive, and type in your email, will you critique it for me when you get it?

Where in the world would you live for one year and a day if you could live anywhere your spirit wished?

Do you feel strongly that Ori from Wales wears an inappropriate shoe style while posting on RF?

Is there any hope of educating him on how to properly polish wingtips?

What do you think of the shade of red the Beatles used for their name on the Sergeant Pepper's Album? Too pink?

Well that concludes this segment of our interview. Folks, expect to see C1 answer the Beatles question on the nightly news!

Is there some chance the new sub-species of humans votes Republican?

Nah, they live in a fascist state. Only the "real" humans get to vote, and they get to vote for all of one party.

What's the general topic of your second novel, the one you are working on now between sexual escapades?
It focuses mainly on the concept of "unholy" alliances and what happens when one party realises their mistake and on the nature godhood and what qualifies as such.

Have you thought of publishing your first novel on the internet?
When I said it wasn't publishable, I really meant it. I cherish it as a learning experience, but I'm not under any illusions with regards to it's quality. I've shown it to people who've helped me with my technique and given me feedback and such, but I'm not interested in letting the whole world see it. Maybe when I'm dead and famous it'll be an interesting footnote in my biography. :p

Is it true your parents named you after the French word for the sound amorous wombats make when in heat?
Unfortunately, no. They named me after some Jewish guy in the Bible. It's all the rage, dontcha know.

How old were you when you first accepted that you were gay?
About 15-16, I think. I did the whole self-delusional, "it's just a phase!" thing for a while before that. As you can imagine, I was a pretty intense homophobe during that period. I find it all rather amusing now.

Is it your impression that growing up gay in Australia might be more or less difficult than growing up gay in the UK?
I don't really know much about the atmosphere with regards homosexuality in UK, to be honest. Judging from the new civil partnerships laws and some of things I've heard, I think perhaps it might be a little harder for young gay folks around here. My personal experience wasn't too bad, however.

What about growing up gay in America? More or less difficult than Australia?
In some ways I think it would be easier in the US and in some ways more difficult. There is a fairly pervasive social liberal attitude in the north-east parts, especially in the cities, so I think it would easier there. However, here in Australia, while we've still got a long way to go, we don't have the hardline religious fundamentalist mouth-foamers in nearly the kind of ratio that the US does.

Do you like to travel? If so, what's your dream destination?
I haven't really travelled much, but I'd like to some day. My dream destinations are Egypt and Norway.

That sounds very wise! Do you have concrete plans to become rich someday? If so, would you mind divulging them to us?
No plans, unfortunately. I'm not sure I could live with myself if I became financially rich by exploiting my comrades in the working class, which is about the only way to get rich in a capitalistic society.

Do you have a low opinion of therapists, then?
Not at all. I think many of them serve an increasingly worthy function in our society. I do tend to have a low opinion of those people who go to them for petty little reasons like their cushy office job "getting them down" or those parents who drag their kids to them because they're not perfect little angels.

Have you ever been to a therapist, and if so, could you share what that experience was like for you, except the part where s/he threw out their professional standards and seduced you?
Hah, no, I've never been to a therapist. I'm not the sort of person who will generally need that kind of help to work through things emotionally, though I don't rule out the possibility of going to one in the future if, for some reason, I really need to.

How much of a mystery are men to you?
In general? Not at all, really. We're simple creatures.

Are you a mystery to yourself?
Sometimes! :D

What's the dirtiest trick you've ever pulled on someone that you wouldn't mind a million internet users to know?
I once convinced someone that pepper spray was just water so they could wash their hands and then go to the bathroom. Hah! The sounds he made were quite amusing.

Did they deserve it? Why?
He was running on meth, he fell for it, thus, he deserved it.

Favorite song?
I like too many to really have a favourite. However, Blind Guardian's Nightfall is one of those songs that really made me passionate about music in the first place, and I still love it.

Could you post the lyrics to it here?
Okay! Here:

No sign of life did flicker
In floods of tears she cried,
"All hope's lost, it can't be undone
They're wasted and gone."

"Save me your speeches!
I know they blinded us all.
What you want
You will take it away from me.
Take it and I know for sure,
The light she once brought in
Is gone forevermore."

Like sorrowful seagulls they sang,
"We're lost in the deep shades
The misty cloud brought."
(A wailing when beauty was gone
Come take a look at the sky)
"Monstrous, it covered the shore.
Fearful into the unknown."
Quietly it crept in new horror
Insanity reigned
And spilled the first blood
When the old king was slain

[chorus:]
Nightfall
Quietly crept in and changed us all
Nightfall
Quietly crept in and changed us all
Nightfall
Immortal land lies down in agony

"How long shall we
Mourn in the dark?
The bliss and the beauty
Will not return.
Say farewell to sadness and grief,
Though long and hard the road might be."
But even in silence I heard the words,
"An oath we shall swear
By the name of the One
'Til the world's end
It can't be broken."

Just wondering how
I can still hear these voices inside

The doom of the Noldor drew near

The words of a banished king
"I swear revenge!"
Filled with anger aflamed our hearts
Full of hate, full of pride
Oh, we screamed for revenge

[chorus]

"Vala he is, that's what you said
Then your oath's been sworn in vain.
But freely you came and
You freely shall depart.
So never trust the northern winds,
Never turn your back on friends."

"Oh, I'm heir of the high lord!"
"You better not trust him."
"The enemy of mine
Isn't he of your kind?"
"And finally you may follow me,
Farewell."
He said

[chorus]

Back to where it all began
Back to where it all began

Actually, I ended up working until 3:30am. I'm a little down, but more so, I'm just in a rather serious mood for some reason - perhaps lack of sleep. And sadly, I was forced to sell the meth pills to be able to afford my other vices. I need intervention.

Nah. Cheerleaders aren't my type. Theatre geeks (as is for any proper homosexual) were more my type. So, my mission to obtain various "honors" was more or less to impress a certain actress I seen during a quick change.

Suntone said:
Moving along, how was your first year of college?

It was quite the experience. It started off okay, got real great, then sucked at the end. I made friends - and then I pretty much lost those friends. But I learned alot and had great classes and great professors. ...And during this time away at college, I discovered RF, due to the fact there was nothing to do in my dorm room!

Sunstone said:
Do you attend the same college as the captain of your high school cheerleaders?

No. Actually, no one from my high school's graduating class is going to the same university as me, though there a few others attending my college that went to the same high school as me. Also, someone I know from theatre in high school a grade younger than me will be attending the same college as me next year.

I don't know how to describe it, but all the buildings (except the Sports and Activities Center - where I never went anyway) are connected, which is nice in winter. Here's a poor picture of my campus (but best I could find), since I suck at describing.

Is there a thriving campus town full of bars, small stores and interesting restaurants?

Not really. My college is stuck between Kenosha and Racine - though I guess the college is considered to be in Kenosha. But since this is Wisconsin, of course both cities have a plethora of bars to choose from. However, I didn't go into either of these cities enough to give you a decent answer. There is a great Chinese buffet in Kenosha and I used to hang out at a bar in downtown Kenosha - though I wasn't supposed to since I am underage (but since the bartender was the wife of a friend, she just would say I was a member of a band playing there :D)

Describe your second favorite professor and the course you took with him or her?

My second favorite professor was Professor McRoy, my professor for literary analysis this past spring semester. He taught in a very "enthusiastic" and "unorthodox" manner and didn't talk down to us. We had so many great discussions in that class. He also looked nothing like a stereotypical college professor, with his shaved head, goatee, and leather jacket. I even talked with him alone after class on a few occassions. He is a very cool guy. Literary Analysis was probably my favorite class I had during the spring semester. The class was aimed at showing the different methods, ideas, philosophies, what-have-you of reading literary texts and interpreting those texts.

I don't think so.

I think I did and if there was a celebration, which I think there was, I don't know what it was like, since I was likely in my dorm studying or being a loser.

Damn. I don't know. Honesty and genuine caring for his students. He didn't just teach us about technical theatre. He spent time talking to us (and listening to us) about other aspects of life. He is a very intelligent man. He would spend time talking to me alone if I needed someone to talk to. I didn't really get that from any other adults (except for my AP English teacher).

Sunstone said:
What were the three finest qualities s/he noticed in you and sought to bring out?

I don't know. I'm not him. But one of the most valuable lessons he taught me can be summed up in part of what he wrote in my yearbook senior year:

"Remember we don't need to change the whole world. If we change ourselves and live as an example we have changed the world and affected the future in ways we will never know."

So I don't think it was so much him trying to bring out certain qualities that I have more than he taught me to change myself to be what I want to be and not let the world get me down so much. He taught me that I can't change the whole world, but I can change myself and that is a way to change the world. It is a lesson I will never forget.

I am undecided. I see science as the sanity that juxtaposes the often insanity of religion and superstition, but I don't know if "social sanity" is even possible or obtainable, but I could see that science would play a role in such a "quest."

Do you feel that because you love who you are, you can love others better?
Yes, I certainly do. I find it hard to believe that one can fully and completely love another or be loved by another without fully and completely loving themselves first. How can someone see the absolute beauty in another when their own absolute beauty escapes them?

Can you share an example of where that's been true?
I can't think of an example, but let's just say that I've known those who do not love themselves and have seen them try to love others. The end results are never pretty. The party who doesn't love themselves can never fully grasp the idea that someone else loves them absolutely because they don't see the reason behind that love, because they feel they are not worthy of said person's absolute adoration. I'm sorry if I'm rambling.

Do you ever have crazy days when you feel in love with everyone and everything?
I most certainly do! I also have days where I feel I hate everyone and everything, but those are not as frequent as the love days.

C1, I'm sure that as a co-owner of a magazine that does interviews, you realize readers these days want more than a superficial look at someone: They want to know the whole person. In the spirit of getting to know you on every level, could you now tell us your favorite insect?
I can. It's the Praying Mantis. Everything about them fascinates me!

Has that been your favorite through out your life or did you have another favorite before that one?
It has pretty much always been the Praying Mantis, or the Black Widow. Any insect that kills their mate after mating with them is definitely an insect I can relate to.

Did you ever want to glue a tiny little transmitter to your current favorite insect and then follow it around the house with a radio reciever as if you were a field biologist following wild wolves who had radio collars on them?
I completely have! How fascinating would it be to track a Praying Mantis for a day?!

Thank you, C1! That concludes the ground breaking in-depth part of our interview. No doubt the networks will want to pick it up and broadcast it.

What first attracted you to Paganism and witchcraft?
I don't think it ever really had to do with an attraction. More just... a feeling, I suppose. I've always been Pagan, I think. I've always had the beliefs I hold, I just never knew what they were. It wasn't until I was about 12 and starting reading into Kemetic Reconstructionism and Paganism as a whole that all my beliefs started to come together. As for the Witchcraft factor, I think the fact that I was able to use it to help others attracted me to it. I use the magicks sparingly and very rarely, but when I do, it's only for others and only to do good in the world or good for other people.

How do you see yourself making spiritual progress through your religion?
I'm not really sure. I don't really look at it like making spiritual progress. It's just something that's with me, that's always been with me and always will be with me. My religion, to me, isn't about making progress in any way, it's simply a part of me. I wouldn't be whole without it. Does that make sense, in regards to your question?

How much of a mystery to you are men?
Oh boy! So much so! Some guys are easy, but there are certain boys, like the one that hold my heart now, that I simply cannot figure out, no matter how hard I try. It drives me to the edge.

How much of a mystery are you to yourself?
I would say not much of one. I know myself pretty well, inside and out. I know exactly what I'm about. I don't see myself as a mystery really. Not to myself anyway. I'm sure I am one to others though.

Is vulnerablity the price we pay to love? Can we genuinely love if we keep our defenses up?
No, I don't think we can genuinely love if we keep our defenses up. It's impossible. To love fully and wholly, one needs to let the other person in absolutely and one cannot do that with walls up. Vulnerability is definitely a price to pay to love.

Besides sex, music, and writing, what's your favorite art?
Definitely painting. Pointilism to be more specific. I find it so incredibly intriguing.

Do you practice it yourself?
Oh, no. I'm not a painter at all. I'm not artistic in that sense whatsoever.

Is it part of your spiritual path?
No, it's not. It's art is simply something that I love. I could stare at a painting for hours and be completely content.

What are you wearing right now?
An AlleyDukes tshirt (they're a local band, and friends of mine), overtop a Stiff Little Fingers tank top (also 70's-ish UK punk band) and a pair of blue Jeans.

If I role up my favorite pencil drawing, stick it in my computer drive, and type in your email, will you critique it for me when you get it?
I most certainly would!

Where in the world would you live for one year and a day if you could live anywhere your spirit wished?
Hmm... I think perhaps in either Ireland or England. However, if time was not a factor, I'd like to go back to New York in 1976 and live there.

Do you feel strongly that Ori from Wales wears an inappropriate shoe style while posting on RF?
I do. I imagine he wears horrible Birkenstocks with socks on under them.

Is there any hope of educating him on how to properly polish wingtips?
I absolutely do not think there is. I adore him, but on this subject, I think he may simply be a lost cause.

What do you think of the shade of red the Beatles used for their name on the Sergeant Pepper's Album? Too pink?
This specific shade of red actually offends me slightly. I'm quite bothered by it.

Well that concludes this segment of our interview. Folks, expect to see C1 answer the Beatles question on the nightly news!

"There is a powerful norm of heterosexuality, and a powerful double standard. Girls focus largely on appearence and boyfriends, boys focus on maschismo and sexual gains. To deviate is not accepted."

-- Laurie Mandel, on suburban middle schools (1999)

Is Mandel's observation substantially correct? Why or why not?

Hmm...I deviated. Maybe that's why I was never accepted. I suppose that would make Mandel correct.

Is this double standard something innate to boys and girls, or is it something they learn?

I don't know. I deviated. Remember?

Assuming Mandel is substantially correct, is what is true of middle schools also true of high schools?

No. But it's true of pre-school and kindergarten.

Can there be any greater gift than the gift of jelly beans offered with no strings attached?

Well, I always thought the gift of life was a pretty good one, but jelly beans with no strings attached blows that right out of the water.

Should you offer yourself to a lover like you would offer a lover jelly beans, with no strings attached?

Should I? Yes. Would I? No.

Mine come in chunks. I won't get any for a couple of days and then BAM!!! - a whole bunch out of nowhere.

Which American Dynasty has the most fools: The Bush Dynasty or the Kennedy Dynasty?

If "nasty" is the root word, then I would definately say the Bush Dynasty. If "fools" is the key word, then I would definately say the Bush Dynasty.

Either explain your answer to the above, or describe the socks you last wore!

The last socks I wore were given to me by the Bush Dynasty. They were pretty nasty, so I sold them on ebay for $1,093,487,587.00. What fools!

Yes.

If so, what are the perils?

They ultimately become the second "T" in TORT.

I'm thinking about being The Corpse Bride, since I didn't get to last year. I'm guessing it'll look like The Corpse Bride.

Since the night I was at a smokey bar and the band started to play...the spotlight on the singer's toupee just had me hooked!

I understand you currently manage a restaurant. How do you manage to do that?
With a little bit of: :slap: And a little bit of: :ignore:

What's the best way to deal with a troublesome employee?
See above.

*suddenly remembers his toupee* Suppose you had an employee who, allergic to real hair, was unable to wear a real toupee, and instead understandably wore a banana peel on his head? How would you get that past the health inspectors?
Hmm...let me see... Well, as far as I can remember from the OH&S rules, as long as said employee periodically scraped the mold off the banana peel, and perhaps stapled the peel to his head to prevent it falling inadvertantly into someone's food, it'd be apples. Or bananas, as the case may be. Oh, it'd probably be a good idea for the banana to be blue, as well - that way if it fell into anyone's food, it would be immediately obvious. Seems to be the current theory for band aids, anyway.

When you were growing up in San Francisco, did you ever feel like you were in the wrong city, perhaps even on the wrong continent?
*reminisces about childhood briefly* You know, you may have hit on something there! I always spoke differently to everyone else, and had this strange love of hopping marsupials which could never be satisfied in San Fran.

How old were you before you accepted you were part of the Gay Conspiracy To Destroy the Western World?
Well, apparently I'd been getting mail-outs for years, but my mother kept using them to light the fire...which, quite paradoxically, left me in the dark. I had wondered why I was strangely attracted to the bounce of an ample bosom, but didn't really hit upon the reason until I was 26.

Were you in denial of your homosexuality at first until you were recruited by a Gay Talent Scout?
Oh, absolutely! Drooling over women left, right, and centre, and still up the river in Egypt without a paddle. I owe that Gay Talent Scout a lot. ;)

Do you think it's easier to be gay in Australia or in the UK?
Not having been gay in the UK, it's hard to tell. Apart from stupid laws, I haven't found it particularly hard to be gay in Australia. Most people I know don't care, and the ones who do care and ask me stupid questions get laughed at.

What about Australia or the US? Which society is easier on gays?
I'll have to concur with Revasser on this one - the US has a far larger "nutjob" quotient, therefore making it harder on gays. We only have a mini-Bush, not the real deal. I must say, though, that the only opportunity I've had to walk hand-in-hand with a pretty lady was while I was in the US. I could stand to repeat that there again.

Which chapter of the dictionary has the best plot?
*picks up dictionary and lets the pages fall open* Well, it seems to have opened all by itself at 'S'...so I'm guessing that something there must have drawn me once or twice (it's the dictionary I had in high school).

Have you ever been religious?
Nup.

What books are you reading today or have last read?
I've almost finished reading Queen of the Damned, by Anne Rice. Vampires!

How many cats do you have?
I have one cat, but two pussies.

Their name(s) please?
Robin, and...well, the other shall remain nameless.

And the number of long whiskers on their face(s)?
Robin has... *locates her and pins her down to count her whiskers* ...roughly 8 on each side of her face. It was a little difficult to count cause she kept trying to run away from my headlock. And the nameless ***** has far too many to count.

Please describe your couch to us!
Well, my couch has just undergone a rather radical change in orientation. It was straight, but now it's 'L' shaped. It's one of those modular ones, brown velour, in 2 parts with 2 seats on each. It has 4 cushions with cushion covers I made myself thrown on it too. They all have yellow corduroy on one side, and two have a floral pattern on the other side, and the other two have a sea themed print. I can change the look of the room simply by flipping the cushions over.

What's the best dish you cook?
My own special spaghetti bolognese recipe.

Could you give us the recipe?
I could, but then I'd have to kill you.

Well, let's see what we can do, then.

What is your second biggest, most important to you life accomplishment to date?
Going insane and back. More people should try it. It builds a lot of character.

How many times in a row can you count to ten without getting confused?
I keep getting bored with it at around one thousand, so I couldn't tell you.

What's a secret about yourself that you'd like to share with about one million internet users?
I am naked.

Does your mother know you have perverted thoughts of having Tom Hank's out of wedlock baby?
Yes.

I like birdies and butterflies and all the pretty flowers.

Who has been the most important mentor in your life who was not a parent or relative?
Douglas Adams.

Did you have his/her out of wedlock baby?
Twins.

What's the third greatest mistake you made in your life and how did you recover from it?
I allowed myself to become undisciplined and lazy during high school because I already knew most of what was being taught. One day at a time, I'm getting better.

Looking back, what's the youngest age at which you think you would have been ready for responsible sex?
I'm not sure I'm ready now, and I'll be twenty-three in a few days.

Why that young? Whatever happened to waiting until 40?
I got involved with someone, and things happen under such circumstances.

Who has the coolest Avartar on RF? What do you like most about it?
Jensa. It keeps changing to reflect the season, particular holidays, and so forth. It's nifty.

Are you often inarticulate around people you're sexually attracted to?
Yeah. All my friends back in high school were female for a reason, you know.

Do you know the neurological reason for that?
Yup.

You've only lived in Colorado a short while. A matter of three or four months, I recall. Before that, it was Texas. Does that mean most of your family is in Hong Kong?
Actually, most of my family is in Upstate NY, as is my husband's. My first daughter, however, was born in the Guang Dong Province of China, very near Hong Kong, and I have been through Hong Kong four times. I consider hanging out in the Hong Kong airport (which is very nice, BTW) part of my labor pains.
Could you share with us your first impressions of Colorado and the thongs here?
While I have not yet had ample opportunity to explore all the thong-related offerings of this beautiful state, my first thong impression was traumatic. It was at a church pancake supper and I have been sorting out the spiritual ramifications of this ever since.

So will you be moving into a Colorado thong anytime soon?
From what I have seen, no.

Is it true you brought your extensive cactus collection with you from Texas when you moved here?
Sadly, I am not really from Texas. And I had to leave my cactus collection in upstate NY before I moved to Missouri. I am still grieving.

How long have you and your husband been married?
22 years this August.

And for how much of that time have you been married to each other?
26 years.

Is there a significant difference between the Republican Party and the Democrat Party?
The Republican Party has better cocktails. The Democratic Party wears Birkenstocks. Other than that, no difference.

Do you hope most to discover oil, gold, or a natural java well on your next camping trip?
I was actually hoping to discover a natural massage oil well, where I could then buy to own and operate a combination message therapy coffee shop bookstore, with a view of the high peaks.

What's your favorite brand of barbecue sauce?
Sweet Baby Ray's

Have you ever used it as an emergency sun block?
Is that not it's main usage?

Without publicly ranking them, who are three of your favorite five posters on RF, and why are each a favorite?
I have not been here very long, but Feathers is sweet and true, NetDoc knows his Bible well and uses it to promote love, rather than bashing people, and and I have enjoyed learning from all the LDS members here.

Is $13.99 a good price for a two topping medium pizza these days?
If one of the toppings is pineapple and the other topping is not anchovies, then yes. It is a good price. Especially if it is delivered.

Why can't people get meatloaf on their pizza anymore?
I don't know. Meatloaf has always seemed like such an obvious choice to me.

What is a selectman?
Russell Crowe (Grrrrrrowerrrrr!)

Is there anything you'd like to the tell your readers that they don't already know about Uruguay?
Montevideo, founded by the Spanish in 1726 as a military stronghold, soon took advantage of its natural harbor to become an important commercial center. Annexed by Brazil as a separate province in 1821, Uruguay declared its independence four years later and secured its freedom in 1828 after a three-year struggle. The administrations of President BATLLE in the early 20th century established widespread political, social, and economic reforms. A violent Marxist urban guerrilla movement named the Tupamaros, launched in the late 1960s, led Uruguay's president to agree to military control of his administration in 1973. By yearend, the rebels had been crushed, but the military continued to expand its hold throughout the government. Civilian rule was not restored until 1985. In 2004, the left-of-center EP-FA Coalition won national elections that effectively ended 170 years of political control previously held by the Colorado and Blanco parties. Uruguay's political and labor conditions are among the freest on the continent.

Can you still get meatloaf on your pizza there?
You can get anything you want onyour pizza there.

Do you like hiking?
I love hiking it is my number one favorite sport. However, both of my children have a strong aversion to hiking at this time, including the daughter who will climb any stationary vertical surface and who asked for scuba-diving equipment for her third birthday so that she could 'swim with the sharks.'

Thank you for asking Sunstone. It has been a pleasure!

From what you say here, I get the strong impression that spirituality for you is more of a home coming, a centering, than it is a progression. Is that true enough?

Hell, yes! Might get a few stares, but I can't say that I care about that anymore (shaving off all your hair kinda leaves you numb to people gawking after a while). Besides, half of the people staring would probably be people I work with, wanting to come and introduce themselves to said pretty lady (I may have mentioned her once or twice...). :D

What's your guess how long it will take before gay marriage is legal in Australia?
Dunno...we gotta get rid of our Prime Minister first. We don't have a maximum term in office like you guys do. Someone should have kneecapped him years ago.

What about how long it will take before it's legal in the US?
Probably before it is here, if we can't change the PM and the political party that's running the joint. Hopefully sooner rather than later. There seems to be a lot more activism going on in the US, I don't read anything about it here.

Do you think the States will pass a constitutional amendment against gay marriage?
No...at least I hope not.

Poke ya in the eye as soon as look at ya, mate!

I was surprised that there are only 4 threads with the word "kumquat" in it. It's a highly underused word.

Do high schools have proms Down Under?
Nup. We had a "formal" dance when I was in Year 11, but it was a bit of a fizzer really. They're not something that happens a lot, or regularly. Always thought it'd be kinda cool if they did.

When I was at Uni, I lived on campus. My "house" (we actually called them "halls"), was called Howitt Hall, and we had an annual formal dance called "The Gaudy". That was a lot of fun, they'd get us all together and take a group photo before it started, and we'd all get silly awards and an embossed commemorative glass or coffee mug. :p One of my mates wore a kilt the second year (I'd dropped out of Uni by then, but they gave me a ticket anyway, I went back especially for the Gaudy). I've still got my purple gown that I wore...might try to flog it on eBay or something, cause I'll never wear it again.

As a child, what was your favorite song, and what were the lyrics?
I honestly can't remember...I know I went around singing "I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas" for a very long time (which was the beginning of my hippo collection). Ah well, whatever the song was, I was sure to have the lyrics wrong. I had a hearing problem as a child, and I used to come out with some really weird lyrics that I thought were right.

Is there a reason you spend most of your interior decorating efforts on your closets?
Have you seen inside my closets? They need all the help they can get!

Is using a cucumber during sex immoral or merely an act of friendship between our species and theirs?
Well, I wouldn't call it immoral...but I'm not sure I'd recommend it, what with all the pesticides and crap they use on veggies these days. You've just reminded me of a keyring I bought when I was at Uni, which I still happen to have. It reads:

CUCUMBERS ARE BETTER THAN MEN BECAUSE...

Cucumbers are at LEAST SIX INCHES LONG.
Cucumbers STAY HARD for a week.
Cucumbers are EASY TO PICK UP.
Cucumbers WON'T ask AM I THE BEST? HOW WAS IT?
You ALWAYS KNOW where your cucumber IS.
It's EASY to DROP a cucumber.
No matter HOW you slice IT, you can have your cuke and EAT IT, too!

:D Even if having sex with veggies isn't my thing, I can't help but agree with my keyring.

Have you ever set a favorite recipe to music?
No, but I often play music while I'm cooking my favourite recipe.

What should everyone know about the Japanese that they probably don't know?
They know how to appreciate a good snowdog.

Which fruit is the sexiest to eat in the presence of a lover?
For some reason chocolate-dipped strawberries come to mind...

What do you see out your window at the moment?
Out of my loungeroom window, nothing; the curtains are still closed. Out of my kitchen window, I can see the back fence and a few branches of the neighbour's apple tree.

From what you say here, I get the strong impression that spirituality for you is more of a home coming, a centering, than it is a progression. Is that true enough?
Yes, I think that's a very good way of explaining it. Spirituality is just something that's a part of me. It's strong within me, and it's the part of me that holds every other part together, I think.

Do you think stripes know how we feel?
I think they do. I mean, how could they not? You know? I think stripes are very empathic in that way.

True or False: There are days when George Bush and Steven Harper "just don't boot up".
Absolutely and completely true!

In your opinion, what's the best way to camoflauge a pick up truck?
Why, duct taping branches and leaves to it, of course.

What's your favorite piece of furniture that you own, and could you describe it in some loving detail?
The favorite piece of furniture I own is my hanging basket chair. It's made of gorgeous black weaved.. wood (haha, I have no idea what kind), with a plushy velvet leopard print cushion that Tara sewed together for me, just for the chair, and it hangs from the ceiling. It's the comfiest chair in my home, though, I've got to say, attempting to get into it while intoxicated is definitely NOT a good idea.

Which life challenges do you refuse to whine about, and do you ever feel anti social because you refuse to whine about them?
Unless I'm bleeding to death or I can physically see a bone poking through my skin, I basically refuse to whine. There are times when I'm slightly drunk when I'll slightly whine about silly things, but I try not to. Whining gets you nowhere. I choose, instead, to take action to fix the things that I would need to whine about. I think that is a better approach and it's also one that I teach to the children who live with me. Whining is not allowed in our house. I sometimes feel anti-social because of my refusal to whine. It means I cannot join in to the community drunken-whining sessions that the girls in my town have regularly.

How do you personally eat spaghetti? Do you twirl it on your fork like my ex Italian father in law, or do you slice it up first, or some other way?
I cut it up first and then I slop a few spoonfuls into a piece of buttered bread and make a spaghetti sandwich.

Do you shun people who eat spaghetti differently than you do?
No, I'm tolerant of all different sorts of spaghetti eaters. They're no better or worse than me. All spaghetti eaters are equal and deserve to be treated that way.

Do you ever get out into the Canadian wilderness for canoing or other recreational activities that involve being chased by bears and moose?
No, I'm not the wilderness type. I will admit, however, to being chased by an angry cow once. That was frightening.

Lately, I've noticed a lot of pennies are left on the sidewalk because no one picks them up. Is this happening in your city too, and do you think it reflects a growing public fear of copper?
I do, actually. I believe there was a rumor going around my town not too long ago about a strain of evil, mutant copper that when you touch it, it burrows under your skin and gets into your bloodstream. It's a scary thought.

How did your moving go?
Heh, I'm still in the process of it. I'm kind of procrastinating since I've recently realized that I possess way too much stuff.

Suppose you had a lover who was too shy to make love except in the dark. Would that strain your relationship?
I think it would. I'm a very open person, especially sexually, and if my lover was too shy to make love, except when in the dark, what else might they be too shy to do? I'm not one for boring, redundant sex.

When given for Christmas, are vibrators stocking stuffers or under the tree presents?
I think stocking stuffers, definitely, but one must make sure, when giving a vibrator as a present, that no children, parents or elderly family members are around when the recipient is opening it. It may cause more questions than it's worth.

Do you think the different age groups are too segregated today, and why or why not?
I think so. I'm not sure why though. Take my parents, for example. My father is almost 70 and my mother is 60. Though they are quite a bit older than me, I still enjoy their company incredibly much and often invite them out to the bar with me and my friends (they're older, but both are still quite active and very healthy). Yet, they both constantly refuse because they don't want to hang out with people my age. They would rather go to a different bar with friends their age than come and hang out with their daughter... is this a sufficient answer to your question? Or did I misunderstand?
