The 'truth' is so elusive, I have no idea what it actually is.

I think truth is seen very different from different p.o.w. Exampl for me as buddhist truth is in how to end all suffering in my life. and result of the search is enlightenment :)

But for a non believer it can be something physical.
Or for a Christian it is to realize God.

But i do not think there is one clear answer to it, not a singularity that say, this is the ultimate truth

What are you seekers going to do with
"truth" once you have found it?

Well, I dont decide what to believe, still less on on
    what I want. Do you?

You truly have no (0) reason to think just maybe maybe
reincarnation etc is all just a chimera?

    Seriously?

    ETA, it does seem the
baptists, the LDS, the 911 boys,
and lo many another is also real sure of
their truth and what is their destiny.

Do you think some of them could use / have
used a bit of "stop and think"?

I don't. I seek knowledge and learning, in the ways that my limited nature allows.

You seek truth by eliminating falsehoods. Too many seem to think they are being completely objective about what they dismiss out of hand.

I think about the teaching every day and i do not find a reason reincarnation is wrong, but if you do not think reincarnation is real that is fine too. Buddhism is a personal belief for me. i do not want to push it on others.

Ever find a reason that it is right? I have
thought about it, wondered, but there seems
to be no actual information one way or the other.

It may be that just thinking every day does
no more than circle around and reinforce.
    No fresh look that way.

If your faith is personal, why to you keep posting
about it? Seems a bit like promoting.

Dont answer if it is uncomfortable, but, I am curious
about the "want to believe" thing, which is why
    I asked.

well if i can not write answer out from who i am, then i can just log off and not come back, because buddhism is my life, its the reason i live. to find answer.
Buddhism is not only thinking, but acting and speaking according to the teaching, and ofcourse meditation.

for me i am past the wanting to believe, i have no doubt about the teaching and no doubt in buddha.

I hear this so often, truth found from within, it sound like a cliche. What do you mean by within?

External experiences such as cultures, family, outwide side knowledge, etc are considered truths depending on the person. Going to work is a truth that you are productive and living and grateful. Playing video games can show you truth in the manner of how you see things. Are you stiff? Flexible? Do you have enemies?

Truth doesnt need to be meditational. When someone harms you, how do you physically react to that? Is it (behavior not mental) benefitial to your wellbeing?

What about your goals? Destination vs journey is a cliche. Truth, to me, is who you are. Destination, to me, is how you use that truth to be productive to who you are and want to be.

From within? I see that by perspective. To me, from within is self development. Our external, physical, mental, and all around experiences with yourself, others, and our environment are all puzzles that build up our wellbeing.

The word truth may throw people off. Purpose does too. God. Religion. Spirit.

    I would ask:

    Who are you?
    What are you?

What is important (not important) to you?

What are your goals (keep it at that)? Doesnt need to be a bucket list or cosmic goals.

    Truth is individual.

    Anjali

    Who are you?
    What are you?
    What is/isnt important to you?

If asked correctly, you may find people will not answer or be vague. It's usually personal. But good question nonetheless.

Truth from with in is that no matter how hard you look for answer outside of body, in physical world you can not find the spiritual answer to why we are here, how to end suffering for one self every spiritual answer can be answered by looking at our self. no need to look outward.

How does rebirth (I would assume not reincarnation as in Hinduism) play a part in your life now?

Who are you as a rebirthed being?
Do you remember your previous rebirths?

Nonbelievers are in a rebirth cycle as well. They are working towards nibanna in little steps. When you bow to an unbeliever and he doesnt bow to you, what does that mean to you? If you dont bow back when he bows to you, why?

Where do you place other people?

    Truth has many many questions.
