This seems to negate what you said about another person with antibodies. If you were suggesting this is a good thing towards supposed herd-immunity, that would be an error. This isn't a step towards herd-immunity, if this is true.I'm sure you can catch it twice. You can get the flu multiple times.
It is a fact that masks greatly reduce our risks of getting it. When some dufus politicizes mask wearing, flaunts his defiance of common sense health protection steps, shaking hands, singing loudly in choirs trusting God, not wearing masks, etc. Then what that same person, whether that dufus was a Republican dufus, a Democratic dufus, or a Libertarian dufus, it does in fact lend itself to an immediate "Told you so, dufus," response by reasonable minds. And rightly so.Here is the difference in approach... A Republican catches COVID and people accentuate "no mask - how stupid" when it is stupid to think that the ONLY way to catch it is through the respiratory system and not through touch and, on top of that, it is just the Republicans that do it.
No. It is not the same issue. If someone has been doing everything any responsible person can do to prevent getting sick, but then gets sick despite that, we all feel badly for them. When some dufus goes around ignoring the risks, defiantly flaunts them openly, protests against taking these reasonable health precautions: social distancing, wearing masks, washing hands, not touching your own face, etc, and then they get, well, that my friend, is largely seen as being upon themselves. It's no surprise.Vs
Someone catches COVID and we say, "that's a shame, let me pray for them" or "I hope the doctors can help him or that his symptoms are minor."
Just a different approach to the same issue.
Here's an example. Health guidelines say cook your chicken to 165 degrees before eating it. Dufus says, there's nothing wrong with medium-rare chicken, so I cook mine to only 110 degrees. He gets violently ill. Should everyone's response be, "That's terrible. Let's pray he get's better". Or should it be, "What a dumbass! Why did he do that! I hope he survives, and maybe has learned his lesson"?
