If we are all descended from Adam how are there different people with different features like Chinese and black.....?

You could ask the same question of evolution if we are all from one origin couldn't you? But first you must determine who and what the Adam is and then you will find that they are both one.

I was going to say he slept around, but you beat me to it.

BTW no where does it say Adam was the first man.

Of course, evolution predicts that different traits will evolve to suit conditions,
eg, skin light/darkness relates to vitamin production in sunlight.

The typical biblical explanation is the tower of babel story.

Evolution is why we have genetic diversity in the first place, so no, you couldn't.

Creationists would have to believe in evolution to explain the differences.

It doesn't, but it doesn't really need to. The word Adam means "Man". So its actually saying that G-d created the species 'man' and then mentions some stories about the Man who consisted of the entire race of Man. Actually, there's no indication of what his name actually is. The verses consistently refer to him the same way it refers to animals, by his specie's name, only it sometimes adds the letter "heh" which kind of makes it mean "the specific man... you know who I'm talking about". Its either "the man" or "you". Even Eve only gets a name at 3:20. I guess when there's only two people, there's not going to be too much confusion about who's who so names become a bit superfluous.

Everything comes from one origin on earth. Evolution takes place after that. There is therefore, no difference. Everything that comes after has to be a change from the original beginning. the question could be applied equally to either. Perhaps your limited understanding of the Text also limits your understanding of Adam and who and what he is.

I though evolution wasn't supposed to "predict" anything.

Evolution itself does not. The Theory of evolution does.

I was referring to the literal Creation timeline cited in Genesis.

Is the word for man (אדם)derived or related to from the word for land (אדמה)?

Gen. 2:7 puts them together. Although I should add that land is ארץ. Earth is probably a better translation of אדמה.

Strictly speaking, the theory of evolution does make testable predictions.
Organisms evolve to adapt to an environment, and such adaption can be predicted to some extent.

Makes it sound rather contrived don't you think? Think about it.
