Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
We noticed. I don't really care.
But could you get the better ads that I used to
see, eg, Christian women who want to meet me?
(I felt desirable.)
I'm waiting for the porn ads to show up again. Those Ukrainian women were sexy , even if the same exact picture had different names and ages on them.

Ukrainian women must want me because I
support their country against the evil aggressor.
Let Russians taste bitter withering defeat.
I'd be more specific & graphic, but rules, ya know.

Something that I think members need to be aware of is that if you bought a lifetime premium membership before August of 2018, the current owners didn't see any of that revenue.

I've never said this in the open forums before but I've always thought the whole lifetime premium membership thing was kind of sketchy: hypothetically it would only be good until the owners sold the place.

The previous owners came up with the idea in 2015 and then sold the forums in 2018.

They sold a lot of premium memberships in that time without any guarantee that the subsequent owners would honor them.

On the other hand it kind of hobbles the new owners in the sense that every lifetime premium membership sold before 2018 represents potential membership revenue that they won't be able to tap into.

I hope they continue to honor those contracts, but to be honest I wouldn't blame them if they didn't.

They'll do what they need to do.
It takes work & money to keep this place alive.
Without the profit motive (greed is good, or at
least useful) y'all could lose access to my wisdom.
I don't mind the ads.
They're much less annoying than other ads I
endure elsewhere in the internet.

Some of us use ad blockers anyway. Still can't fathom why so many insist we view their ads when we make it obvious we just don't want to, and hence where any such advertising is useless. And when we don't view the ads, we still might be spreading free advertising for the site (like citing on RF), so why the complaints?

Thanks. That was useful information.
For what it's worth, I would understand and support a modestly priced annual subscription.

Ah, there's the rub! No matter how much our conscious minds grit their teeth (ha!) and resist, our subconscious brains are susceptible to ads, marketing, and propaganda.

Well they are useless if one determines never to buy such a product when they are so insistent. I started banning adverts long ago, from the TV and on the internet. If it's a battle of what we have to see or hear I think we who will shut our eyes and mute anything will win. :D

I think banning is really the only solution. Again, your conscious mind can attempt such boycotts, but your unconscious brain is still vulnerable. Sincerely, stick with your banning strategy and don't pretend you're in charge of your unconscious. Our unconscious brains are in control of most of our lives, even though our ego minds don't think so.

I'd recommend a book called "Incognito", by Eagleman, if you want to understand this more.
