To start with, I would like to offer this piece of info.

Does everyone know the Universe is expanding, every single minute?

Yes, it does, at an alarming speed of light, that is.

This means galaxies are moving further and further away from each other, so much that in many years from now, the skies will show up being void, with stars having moved away so far apart from each other, they say!

Nonetheless, our far-off neighbor - the ANDROMEDA, is said to get closer to the great MilkyWay every single second, off to a collision course with us sometime in far-off future.

These are my own thoughts on the subject:

Not an atom in the Universe can exist without movement. Even subatomic particles revolve constantly around a nucleus.

If there is no movement on the galactic plane of existence, then space-time becomes irrelevant. Because lack of movement is redundant. It does not cause change, progress, evolution and such. Such a condition would then only signify death.

All things that want to exist must then imply movement. And with movement, comes maturity, change and evolution.

Therefore I trust that, the Universe expands in as much as the space-time folds are completely unfolded (unwarped) and when that happens (they have unfolded to the max. and there is no more room for expansion), that would trigger an opposite process of the Universe folding in on itself. So much that galaxies will bombard with each other resulting in a collapse of the whole model.

This is my idea of the expanding Universe. And of change and space-time.

What is yours? May I know.

The expanding universe can be observed by measuring the red shift of distant stellar objects, the further away they are the closer to the red end if the spectrum is their light indicating that the universe is expanding and the objects further away re moving away faster.

There is large group of galaxies that move contrary to the general movement of the universe, i have heard suggested that this oddity my have been caused by the bounce of 2 universes colliding.

Heat death of our universe is a likely scenario. Where, as you mention, objects will become so far away from each other that there is no thermodynamic free energy between objects and entropy ciuld no longer be sustained.

Sorry, I need to understand what is entropy, w.r.t the galactic scale? Is it change you are talking about? I know in general, the goal of every existence is attuned towards entropy.

That would be my question as well; does the expanding space expand forever as some scientists suggest or is there a finite amount of space that expands?

Some scientists claim that inflation, temporal and eternal is not a factual scientific theory. The idea is that it works so well that there is no way to falsify its existence.

An alternative is the No Boundary Proposal from Stephen Hawking. I have yet to understand that one.

Because of Hubble's measurement and the red shifting that was detected we can definitely say the universe is expanding. I think it's speculative as to whether the universe will also contract. No one has proven the future of a Big Crunch.

Not at the speed of light. If it were already at the speed of light, how is it's rate of expansion increasing?
    Why not?
    Subatomic particles revolve?
    Huh? Can you clarify this?
What are these "things that want to exist?"
Wait -- how did spacetime warping come in?
The universe isn't expanding into 'room.' It's expanding into nothing. It creates the room.
I don't follow this at all. Can you clarify?

Oh... I did not expect a scientific discussion. Sorry, I have not posted here in these forums a long time since and did not expect a scientific community.

I am rather expecting *your* idea,, not necessarily something supported by science or its theories as of yet. Some idea you could have............ (if you don't find it funny, I want to imply, I even welcome spiritual-related thoughts on the topic).

I wrote a short article.... let me check that one and get back why I think movement is necessary for all that which exist to continue so. Please bear with me.

Entropy is the reducing of a systems thermal energy.

On the solar/galactic scale,... Suns use their energy to provide heat for their solar system eventually that energy is depleted and the sun dies, the solar system dies with it

On universe terms. Although energy cannot be created or destroyed. The universe expands so the same amount of energy is spread out over larger and larger volume..

What sort of discussion were you aiming at, if not knowledge-based?

There is evidence that the universe is expanding, from the observation of red shift, which tends to increase with apparent distance from us, in all directions.

The cosmic microwave background radiation is black body radiation - again almost the the same in all directions, i.e. with no source. This is consistent with a much smaller and hotter universe having caused it, which has subsequently expanded, causing the radiation to be red-shifted into the microwave region.

The observational evidence can be used to make extrapolations to the apparent origin of the universe. This is estimated to have started about 13.8bn years ago. The "surface of last scattering", the point at which the universe became transparent to radiation for the first time, and from which surface the background radiation was emitted, is estimated to have been 380,000 years after the start.

There is evidence that the apparent expansion of the universe is accelerating. There is no known cause of such a thing, so the label "Dark Energy" has been given, as a placeholder, to whatever is responsible. This remains one of the principal unsolved problems in cosmology.

    And that's about it.

The space is not just available area... to expand, unfold, what-not. It is a matrix tightly united with the time factor.

When there is no movement, time becomes an irrelevant issue. The only supporting factors that I have to present as my argument towards this notion is the implication of a past, a present and a future being parts of time. It implies that there is change involving an organism to justify that it has had a past, now going through a present, and will have a modified future. (They say 'time is ticking away'.... don't they?).

*Movement is what causes change. Fixed and static things do not change. They just remain what they are.

My thought is if the universe is finite, then beyond the universe there might be something drastically different. I guess that expansion will one day run out.

It would be rather boring if an infinite universe had the very same elements everywhere.

I think the expansion rate is one of the fine tuning constants for life as we know it.

Similar to what I have said at the OP.

That movement is the nature of time, and that as the Universe 'moves' and 'expands', and 'unfolds', it reaches an ultimatum wherein the reverse process kick-starts.

Entropy is heat divided by temperature , S = Q/T. Entropy is a measure of the unavailability of heat energy to do work.

The smaller T is (i.e.the lower the temperature) the bigger S becomes, for a given amount of heat, Q , and the less it is able to do work, e.g making things move faster. This leads to the idea of the eventual heat death of the universe, by which when all the heat has become widely dispersed it will be at low temperature, and will thus be unable to drive any dynamic processes in the cosmos.

I wonder, if there are Universes, beyond the 13.8 billion diameter of the 'Known universe' spectrum with sunlight from their own Suns??

That would be an untestable speculation. You can think so if you like, I suppose.
