Poor Cop Training: Unable Recognize Medical Conditions & Emergencies

@Shadow Wolf....
This is one of the most outrageous cases. I've seen.

Ryan was shot in the eye by assailants, who then killed
another occupant of the home. Cops thought Ryan
was the killer, & didn't believe his complaints about
distress from having been been shot in the eye.
This was despite the big hole in his head where his eye
used to be, from which blood is leaking out.

The brilliant detective told Ryan that because he's
talking, he wasn't shot in that hole where his eye was.
But after an hour of interrogation, the detective decides
to call the fire department to see if that hole where
Ryan's eye was could actually be a real medical issue.
He lost his eye & part of his brain. Seizures eventually
killed him.
Is there any limit to how stupid cops can be?

Okay, I just have to ask. What in gods name are you teaching your cops?
Ours are all drunks. And have their own share of embarrassing scandals.
But holy damn!
This thread takes the cake. Like wtf??????

To brutalize & shoot.
Never to serve & protect.
Another example of why anyone with any
infirmity should avoid the cops at all cost.
They will deny medical care, & let you die.

Another case of a man posing no
threat, but in mental distress.....
"Please don't let him kill me."
"Nobody's gonna hurt you, dude."
Then they kill him.

Tis best to alert the one asked.
Nope, never been harassed by cops.
But I have had problems with them
clogging up my parking lots.
They're typically dicks about it.
Oddly, my interaction with police officers when they arrested me was extremely cordial. Granted, this was in Canada, but at no time did I fear for my safety. Heck, they didn't even make too much of a mess of my house. I do know that so-called police violence is a problem but I can't help but think that people themseleves are presenting more aggressively as more and more people adopt the "**** the police" mentality.

There are many videos of Canuckistanian cops being dicks too.

Sometimes ya gets lucky with cops.

I do not believe for a second that luck has much to do with it.

So instead of endlessly whining about the problem, what is your solution?

There is a spectrum from good cops to bad cops.
The latter can be just murderous bigots or even organized crime.
Which kind will you meet in a traffic stop, arrest, or audit?
It's luck.
One can only influence the results.
But sometimes they just want to execute you.
So instead of endlessly whining about the problem, what is your solution?
You say "whining", as though points I raise should be
dismissed as mere insignificant petulant carping.
I've posted my solutions / remediations many times.
You must've missed them, & presumed I had none.
A lesser poster might respond with....
**** you & the horse you rod in on!
But I'm far too gentlemanly to say such a thing.

Sorry @Revoltingest you're never struck me as being overtly negative before, so this is a bit of a broadside. Do the cops routinely beat the crap out of people where you live? Is it part of their community outreach programs?

It's very common.
And the problem isn't well understood by many,
who believe that it's only a "black problem", &
so aren't very concerned.
Nay, it's a cop problem.
And a prosecutor problem.
And a judge problem.

I'm going to do a Jen Psaki on this an "circle back" later after I have thought about this more.
During my recent trip through the Canadian Criminal Justice System and the Prison System I have many things to discuss.

One of my first writing projects is, "The Justice Myth". I was a life long supporter of these institutions until I found myself caught up in them and then slowly began to discover that system I thought was so good was broken and in serious need of overhaul. This discussion has many moving parts however and there simply is no clear cut way out of the mess we have created.

I recommend reading my tens of thousands of
posts on policing & the justice system in general.
We'll see you in 2028.

Nah. They are horrible towards those who feel no ill will towards them. Myself the cops are on if the few groups or people who scare me into my absolute best behavior and usually when they harass me it's over the rigidness, monotonous autistic voice I have with piggy wiggly thinking I'm intoxicated. Pulled over in New Mexico by a pig who wanted to take a peak in the car in town with California plates (he looked through my windows plenty and barely looked at me). And two or three times for my legal underbody lights.
My oldest nephew, who's never been in trouble amd very mild mannered, gets harassed amd even been searched a couple times just because he has his dad's last name (and he did have a few weed possession charges and pages of driving violations).
