    1) Is the a political imbalance in the united states?
    2) Between which groups does that political imbalance exist?
    3) What if anything can be done about it?

    4) Should anything be done about it?

Maybe it is asking too much, but I would like to hear your opinions.

Before we get started, how are you defining a political imbalance?

Two major sides fighting tooth & nail is a kind of balance.

Lol. I hope that is a joke. There are no right or wrong answers. Just your opinions. Of what do you think, when you hear "political imbalance?"

I couldn't see that. Are you suggesting that you do not perceive a political imbalance between any groups in the U.S.?

From what I have seen from polling on the issues the majority of Americans seem to be fairly liberal, and becoming more liberal all the time. And the current government structure is extremely conservative.

    This is an unstable situation,

As for what can be done about it - VOTE!

Should something be be done about it, yes - VOTE!

There's a political imbalance is Calif. The Democrats run the place and tax the hell out of it. I wouldn't mind the taxes if there was some real benefit out of it but the government in california seem mostly interested in benefiting themselves.

On the federal level, a balanced government usually means nothing gets done. That's not necessarily bad really because the less the government does, the better.

The political leaders IMO need to find common ground and work together to move forward. Not likely to happen since each political party wants power and holds little trust for the other.

While i would note that the groups neednt be limited to political parties, how would you answer 3 and 4, if your answer is yes an political imbalance exists between the libertarian party/"lesser parties" and the "Big Two?"

Ban PACs and the likes. Make maximum donation say $1000 and all monies must be fully declared so we know who is funding who.

Your first and second comments combined implied that there was no imbalance. The third comment showed you do believe there is a political imbalance. The lines by which you have outlined that imbalance are based on party affiliation. That is one way to slice up the pie, but not the only way. Based on this distinction, your claim is that an imbalance does indeed exist. So what, if anything, can be done about the imbalance of power between libertarians and the lesser parties and the big two?

Should anything be done about this imbalance you perceive?

Am I to assume that you believe a political imbalance exists based on wealth?

    IKR!

Would it have been better if I said: "I personally define political imbalance as a state of affairs wherein the is a disparity between one or more groups concerning the affairs of a nation; but you do you?"

I didn't mean to imply that.
"Balance" is a large & tricky concept.
I see both that & imbalance.
The good guys (Libertarians, of course) should work for a greater share of power.
