Well we would no longer be bound by freedom of movement clauses. And we would be able to repeal the 1951 Geneva Convention--this would mean that we wouldn't have to process asylum claims forcibly.

There is a lot that can and should be done about mass migrations.

One of the most urgent is stopping seeing them as something to be avoided regardless of consequences. They are a result of deeper causes that deserve a lot of attention.

Nowhere near 300,000 asylum seekers go to the UK every year though. Probably around 10% of that figure.

And maybe the welfare payments aren't that important for immigrants legal or illegal because most of them would prefer to actually have a job.

If you're worried about being 'ripped off', then corporate tax avoidance/evasion is probably cost you 100 times what 'scrounging foreigners' cost you.

Corporate tax evasion costed the UK £34 billion in the 2012/13 financial year. Are refugees who desperately need to escape from wartorn areas really costing anywhere near that much, when the vast majority desperately want to work and earn a proper stable income?
