    What's the word that means to give humanistic traits to inanimate objects?

    I'm writing a critical response essay on John Crowe Ransom's Criticism Inc. as applied to the Cyropaedia by Xenophon... I think it's a fine word, hahaha

    I would use personification myself though I suppose that is more to describe something as human than to give it human attributes.

    Personification if you're a writer, anthropomorphism if you're a scientist.
