And she's a front runner.

This is going to be the worst election I've seen in my lifetime.

Probably not any more.

And yes, it's going to be a horrible election, mainly because (thank God!) the Republicans aren't taking the campaign seriously and are putting up hopelessly stupid candidates.

First porn....then bacon.
Beware those who want to cure our sins.

But this is primary season, after all. She could be lying just to get the party's nomination.

Pubs are handing Dems a victory in this next cycle. All Obama / Dems have to do is come up with some plan (on the surface) that squarely addresses Medicare and it's lock, IMO. Pubs are doing decent job every other day of shooting themselves in the foot. Hobbling around, and barely having a leg to stand on anymore.

Elections are less 'voting for the best candidate' and more 'voting for the least aweful candidate'.

That's why I voted for Obama last time and it still turned out to be a ****** choice.

I probably won't vote at all for the 2012 election. I'm going to keep all my voting local but I fail to see any reason at all to vote in federal elections any more. The electorate has already sold it's soul. But then again it is the beginning of my mid-life crisis so in ten years I might be over this and back to voting.

Lying to win isn't as bad as sincerely expressing an oppressive agenda.

I'd prefer that politicians voice my agenda with honesty & integrity, but that is not a path to winning elections.
I'll throw away my vote on whichever loser the Libertarian Party runs. He (she) will be my kind of loser.

I mean that lying like this to gain the support of the party is troubling. It would mean that while she doesn't believe it, the majority of the party does.

If she wants to make herself look like an idiot by lying - or by telling the truth - on this issue, that's one thing. She's one idiot.

But if the party jumps on the bandwagon, it's a whole group of morons supporting one big moron.

You should definitely vote! We at least need to ensure that the most aweful candidate doesn't win. I think things can be changed for the better in our country, but its going to take some effort on everyone's part. To be honest, I don't know why I vote in federal elections in my state since my vote never matters...everyone here votes republican (apparently its what Jesus would do)

Like Revoltingest I will probably vote Libertarian for POTUS. Sure they won't win that position but that's what I did in '96, '00 and '04.

I'm concerned that most of the electorate do not appear to be concerned about the Executive Branch and it's departments.

But you're right. I've voted in every election for the last 20 years except for a couple small county ballots and I don't need to stop now. Even if this election looks like a choice to pick your favorite character on Nickelodeon.

Yeah, she reminds me of Obama too.

A frighting percentage of the electorate probably doesn't even know what the executive branch is. I think one solution to America's problems might be requiring a basic test on US government, current issues, and critical thinking in order to vote. I mean we require tests for driving cars, flying planes, and performing open heart surgery. Obviously in matters of life and death, we want people making informed choices. Millions of lives worldwide are influenced by our voting decisions, but currently people don't even have to be literate to vote. It would be difficult to decide and agree upon exactly what to put on these "voter competence tests" but ultimately our country would benefit. Our country has roots in enlightenment philosophy, and one of its tenents is that people should be given the freedom to rely upon reason to make decisions. We just need to be sure that voters know how to reason and have the information necessary to choose responsibly. I doubt such test could ever be implemented since most politicians currently in office depend upon the ignorant majority to remain in power. Any objections to this idea?

Ouch. It is bad enough that she has a chance of getting a nomination.

Heck, it is bad enough that the media has time for her.
