No. They want people to come off these parasitic programs.
And yet they propose absolutely NOTHING to make that happen. And they never have. In fact, ALL their proposals do just the opposite. More tax cuts for the rich. More government giveaways to the rich. Bust unions and keep wages far below survival levels so the rich can garner more profits. Everything they do they do for the rich, while more and more Americans end up homeless. And homelessness in the U.S. is in most cases a condition that no one will ever come back from. Because it involves hopelessness, and drugs, and alcoholism, and all sorts of psychological damage. They will never be employable, as you stupidly assume they should be. The greed and selfishness of the wealthy elites that the GOP worships and serves exclusively (Trump being the mascot for it) is why those people were cut out of productive society in the first place. And the GOP has absolutely no intention of changing their worship of wealth, or of helping any of those who have been pushed aside by it. All they want to do is blame them, and kick down at them to make their greed and avarice appear superior. And it is in fact all they are doing. All they have been doing for decades, now.

Wake up!

Also, there are studies about what happens when you just give people money with no strings.

What Happens When You Give People Money?

Researchers Find A Remarkable Ripple Effect When You Give Cash To Poor Families

Giving people money with no strings attached is good for their health, dozens of studies indicate

To reach that finding, our interdisciplinary team of public health experts, economists and epidemiologists from Canada, Germany, New Zealand and the U.S. pooled data from 34 studies that involved 1,140,385 participants in 50,095 households across Africa, the Americas and Southeast Asia.

Nah, according to Republicans they spend it all on drugs and hookers.

We can see all the fine 'progress' on the Democrat side.

Wake up!

"It's a huge list": Iowa GOP bill would ban people on food stamps from buying fresh meat — and more (msn.com)

This is bizarre.

I guess what's weird about this is that this is Iowa, in the middle of America's breadbasket, and Americans always prided themselves on never having a famine or any critical food shortages. And yet, they're acting like we're running out of food and that we have resort to rationing. Can't even have salt, pepper, or soup.

Another aspect of this is that it would likely cause delays at the supermarket checkout stand, as the cashiers would be required to carry out such restrictions.
Which party is doing the nanny state routine now?

Lots of the no things make cooking very hard, impossible even. Like no cooking oils or salt.
Where's you're charge against the nanny state?
One thing that people do not seem to realize. Any mother on WIC already is on food stamps and would have access to those goods. WIC is above and beyond that and aimed at supplying food for her children.

That's not necessarily true. We qualify for WIC, but we sit on the line where we make just slightly too much for food stamps.

Generally speaking, if you get state insurance(which we do), you would likely qualify for WIC if you are pregnant or have a child 5 and under. You might not qualify for food stamps(or, if you do, you may get little; I knew someone who only received 12 dollars a month!)

I think that varies state to state.
