Well I doubt that few will object to this last statement (apart from perhaps being direct causes), but it seems many will not see the negatives that often hitch a ride too - like discriminating against certain groups or painting others in various shades of black regarding their beliefs or lack of such. And such apparently set for all time but when progress makes nonsense of some of this. Which is why so many do see harms in certain religious beliefs - as here for example (from the UK), and which is reflected elsewhere in the world too apparently in varying degrees:

Religion does more harm than good - poll

I don't know why you would think that is to have two standards?

Lets use the COVID vaccine as an example. We use it because it have a positive effect against a specific virus, we don't use it because someone have a headache or have a broken leg, we deal with that other ways. So even if the vaccine is a positive thing when it comes to COVID, doesn't mean that it is automatically good at dealing with all viruses or other injuries or disease that might occur in a society. We have to look at each of these individual to see if it is positive, negative or have no effect at all.

Its the same with religion on some parts of society it can have a positive effect, on other not and again it might not be relevant in regards to a third thing. It depends what we are talking about, its not a black and white thing.

    Its obvious and fundamental.

    1. Honour killings: Religion plays a huge role because society has a huge influence from religion. Huge. I mean really huge.
    2. Science: You have huge problem saying religion has a role. Huge problem. I mean humungous.

Double standards. ;) Its hilarious actually.

Religion have had an impact on science throughout history, I don't think that science wouldn't have emerged regardless, because religion doesn't answer or deal with a lot of the questions that science do. Religion have also had a negative impact on science both in the past and today. Because it tries to apply ideas to it as if they are scientific valid or have an issue dealing with whatever science shows to be the case. It also tries and in certain cases influence education. So religion have an impact on science, it is just not positive, at best religion has nothing to add to science, because it is not dealing with scientific issues.

I ask you several times to show where religion is or were a direct cause of scientific advancement, so if you believe that religion have a positive effect on this and have brought forth anything then I would like to hear what you think it is?

Its no different than me saying that science doesn't influence every little thing that is going on in society and therefore I have a double standard towards that as well. Science influence some things and not others, same with religion.

Yes of course. Honor killings is not solely related to religions.

Well maybe I misunderstood you then, but you did write:

So the bottom-line is, when it comes to religion, it has a "huge part" in things like "honour killings" but not in scientific advancement.

So what did you mean by "but not in scientific advancement"?

I was showing your double standards. Maybe you will never understand these simple English sentences because these standards are inbuilt in you so much you cannot see beyond it.

    The end. ;)

No, I said religion had a huge influence on culture!! You even quoted me saying it yourself:

You claim that culture is shaped hugely by religion. So do you think the culture of scientific advancement, education, advancement, reason, are all influenced by religion "hugely"?

Its not double standard, its because you don't read what I write and apparently not what you yourself write either. If you disagree that religion have or have had little influence on culture that is fine, but I would say that you are greatly mistaken then.

If you say. Humans in groups gather as like minds.

    As you are human first.

Like minded groups form their own opinions.

Why one spiritual human unity no longer is lived.

Family is first not unnatural groups.

Yet if family mutually gathered for loving reasons it's why they did.

    Is not any crime.

Choice of behaviour is wrong itself.
