Is eating meat moral depravity?

The etymology of human and humane is quite funny, considering there's nothing kind or compassionate going on in slaughterhouses. It's common for stunned animals to still be conscious when they are hung up and the throat is slit. Or, of course, when they are gassed.

You are talking mentally :) My cousin Eric worked in a slaughter house. I know all to well how they deal with them by stunning them and omg the torture of those animals. It's completely wrong. He showed me and explained to me when I was younger how horrible it is for them. It isn't pretty and it isn't the easiest way. People just adopted to that way simply because they don't want to be bothered with them.

Cannibalism is moral depravity. Eating pigs isn't much better, IMO, given their physiological similarity to us.
