Wouldn't it be great to have a comfy rocking chair on a porch with a view of this bridge?

I'm extra cautious when hauling hammers to my collection.
Some of'm are are about 9' tall.
Carried upright on a trailer, I worry about low hanging wires.
    Bridges at least have signs.

They need a sign that gives an up-to-date "Trucks Killed" tally...

Most of the trucks that hit that are rentals. Local truck drivers know the hazards of that bridge. Amateurs sometimes can get distracted when lost. And I have heard that local rental companies do warn people about that bridge. Since for some reason that damage is not covered by rental insurance.

It is a problem that is hard to resolve. They cannot lower the road since a sewer line is under it and it is too expensive to raise the track.

My compliments to the bridge builders. That thing really holds up!

it looks as if the bar they hit was put their to protect the bridge. But it does work quite well.

I think my favorites may be the RV's and fifth wheelers that only get their air conditioners removed.

Yeah, I was going to say...

But I suppose one ought to know the height of the truck they are driving. Well, I bet they figure it out real quick after the damage has been done.

A moment's inattention is all it takes.
Friends have a fleet of trucks for tree work.
It's really spendy when those bucket booms hit bridges.

Traffic lights controlled by a laser or IR beam across the road 100 yards before the bridge at a inches or two below bridge headroom. Break the beam turn lights red. Fairly cheap solution i think

Robot trucks with built in sensors.

If I had the wherewithal, I'd design a line of self driving RVs.

Imagine sitting on the potty, checking the latest Facebook postings while the vehicle your in negotiations downtown traffic. :handok:

My favorite are the trucks with hay bales at 6:15. The first one goes under and loses the top portion of his hay. Somehow the second truck driver, seeing this unfold before his eyes, decides to go under anyways. I have to wonder what was going through the mind of that second truck driver. :D Probably this:

That's brilliant. Seriously. Do you know how much that would save us all in insurance claims? They are not going that fast in that area anyway so plenty of time to stop with the warning.

But it sure is entertaining to watch!

One of your best posts yet.

Regardless of the warning and their ignorance, I still gotta feel sorry for them.

Im sure local everyone knows about it, LMAO! But, the thought did cross my mind, when I worked at a truck there was a sharp s curve, many trucks have ended up on their side on it, and many times I heard about truckers coaching eachother through it.
