I've never owned a .50 cal before but it seemed interesting and I had the money so I figured what the hell I'll buy it. I can play with it for a while and in a few years maybe make a few extra bucks on my investment or trade it for whatever strikes my fancy at the time.
Thoughts?
I wish I still had my AR-15. The real one not the style type . That was way back in the 80s before all this Assault Rifle crap came out. I was still in the military at the time where you could walk through the airport with your weapon to check it in at baggage.
I'm probably going to be purchasing a bolt-action rifle or a breech load shotgun in the future. My wife is okay with it it's my late father-in-law was a military man and guns were not unfamiliar. She likes the idea. I would personally love to have a classic Winchester repeater or a World War 2 Garand because I find vintage weapons pretty fascinating and nostalgic. There's always something to be said for a single shot shotgun too.
I have a Hazmat and a TWIC card so getting a gun shouldnt be any type of problem as the background checks are the same.
Have a lot of safe fun shooting the rifle. .50 cals are really nice for big game and the variety of targets you could shoot can tickle the imagination. You ought to find a gun club and have a lot of fun and socialize with buddies at the range . Shooting competitions are a blast. Pun intended. *Grin*
I don't know why , but watermelons are pretty popular these days. *Grin* .
