    And this is just going up to large stars. Once you get to galaxies, things are really big!

    We are like dust on scale of the universe, important only to ourselves and our communities.

    Yes and no. In terms of ego, yes. In terms of singular mentality, mind boggling, no. There simply is no scale to measure the limitless possibilities.

    Here’s a Wikipedia pic that reveals a contradiction with the first set of to-scale pictures, specifically between Betelgeuse and Antares.

    (I would assume the Wikipedia article is more accurate):

    VY Canis Majoris - Wikipedia

    Still awesome! Just the fact that scientists can figure this out, with objects lying so far away, is amazing!

    I thought we were just a moment's sunlight fading in the grass.

    An old tradition also says this creation/universe is only one of 100,000,000 more.

    How small are we! How great our God is!

    Andre Linde and Vitaly Vanchurin have calculated there are 10^10^16 and it could be more, 10^10^10^7

    Great :)

    I would add that, the old tradition quoted also comes with another piece of advice, relative to the numbers you have also posted; This is the full quote the tradition was mentioned;

    "....Consider the following well-known tradition and examine its meanings indicative of the vastness of the cosmos and its awesome limitless expanse: 'God, exalted be He, fashioned one hundred thousand, thousand lamps and suspended the Throne, the earth, the heavens and whatsoever is between them, even Heaven and Hell -- all of these in a single lamp. And only God knows what is in the rest of the lamps.' The fact that philosophers and sages have posited limits and restrictions for such matters is to be explained by the limitations of people~s minds and perceptions and the blindness of the followers of allusions, whose natures and intellects have been rendered dull and inanimate by the interposition of many veils...."

    I like what science will soon find, when unity of mind is achieved, we will be able to traverse time and space easily and swiftly, these quotes a taste of what is to come.

    Baha'u'llah says;

    "...Verily I say, the creation of God embraceth worlds besides this world, and creatures apart from these creatures. In each of these worlds He hath ordained things which none can search except Himself, the All-Searching, the All-Wise..."

    And that;

    "..Know thou that every fixed star hath its own planets, and every planet its own creatures, whose number no man can compute..."

    "..‘Abdu’l-Bahá stated there are other worlds than ours which are inhabited by beings capable of knowing God..." Shoghi Effendi

    "..The earth has its inhabitants, the water and the air contain many living beings… then how is it possible to conceive that these stupendous stellar bodies are not inhabited? Verily, they are peopled, but let it be known that the dwellers accord with the elements of their respective spheres. These living beings do not have states of consciousness like unto those who live on the surface of this globe: the power of adaptation and environment molds their bodies and states of consciousness, just as our bodies and minds are suited to our planet....." – Abdu’l-Baha, Divine Philosophy, pp. 114-115.
