Twilight Hue
Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
A lot of his contributions have improved race relations considerably. Theres work still to be done, but then and now are vastly different, and for the better. When I think of Martin Luther King I don't much feel like celebrating. It's heartbreaking that we created a society that so abused people for the color of their skin that he had to stand up and struggle so mightily and for so long just to try and get Americans to treat each other like human beings. And that he and everyone who stood up with him had to endure constant humiliation and violent attacks, and imprisonment, and eventually even being murdered. All for daring to point out that we human beings are all equal in the eyes of God, and that the color of a person's skin does not dictate the content of his character. These are not things I feel celebratory about.
Whats important is MLKs dream is not dead and thats always a good thing.
