There are different ways of doing these, Katia was one that I see a lot(most of it). I have also seen someone charge it with there own energy, giving them more of a personal connection with an item.

Energy(in my understanding). Different types of 'energy'.

Personally I don't think there is a physical(Mundane) way to measure this.

This is what I found. I personal don't use this kind of thing(especially for Chakra use). Bit to 'New-Age' for me.

Negative energy = electricity?

No(IMO). Though electricity is a strong energy ether way, and though not negative can mess thing up in ritual if you're not channeling it.

Why not just ground them?

Grounding is another good way to go. Though remember everyone is different. I'd say depending on what one is doing one should both cleanse and ground them.

And what does sunlight, reflected or otherwise, charge them with?

Solar energy. Some believe this to be the best cleansing energy.

This is my collection, put together lovingly over the period of three years. I use gemstones for meditation, healing, massages and just to look at. I wash them and recharge them twice a year, if i am not using them regularly.

Well I came across something...actually some things on eBay the last few days. This seller had some pendants consisting of gemstones set in solid copper. They were penny auctions so I got them dirt cheap because people don't seem to like copper in jewelry. Probably because it tends to turn one's skin green. Anyway I didn't exactly buy them for wearing. Copper is known to magnify the magickal properties of gemstones. I also thought some of the ones I selected would be great for scrying.

Sorry, the system only let me put 8 pics in a post and I actually got nine of them. This last one is not set in copper though. StarChaser saw me grabbing a bunch and threw in a bid on this Mahogany Obsidian pendant because I am very partial to Obsidian. She didn't realize the copper was important to me. It won't go to waste though...

So...What do you think? All nine ran me twenty bucks and some change shipped. If I can have one successful scrying session with just one of these I'd say they paid for themselves a few times over.

Yes. Being I often swap my negative energy for positive energy and use the new positive energy to recharge a crystal or gemstone.

Yes. In fact I believe in charging my Magickal Items and even my Swords and Daggers(which are also Magickal items at times). I believe it also gives one a personal bond with them.

I found a second hand store going out of business today. They wanted 25¢ to 50¢ each for some tumbled stones. I recognized a few and none looked fake so I asked them how much for the whole lot of them. I snagged all 44 of them for ten bucks out the door. That is less than 23¢ per stone.

Pretty pretty. I used to collect gemstones when I was a kid. I can't remember most of the names now. I think I will go find my old ones and reorganize them. They are at my parents house somewhere.
