It is of Lord Krsna pretending to be a peacock, in front of His joyful audience Lord Balarama, (His brother), and his gopa friends (cowherd friends) :D

Yeah, it certainly seems so. The Bhagavad Gita is a very beautiful text, and is much more influential now than much of the Vedic texts, which address various different issues and are from a different context. Some of the Upanishadic stuff aside.

I can summarise it for you. Here you go.
The Vedas are older than the Bhagavad Gita.

Now, that wasn't so hard, was it?

Or .. even more options ..
The Vedas existed before the Bhagavad Gita.
The Bhagavad Gita was written after the Vedas.
    First Vedas, then Gita.
    Gita after Vedas.
    Vedas before Gita.

The Ashtavakra Gita appears to be younger still. In the cases of both the Bhagavad Gita and Ashtavakra Gita, this in no way diminishes them - it is the truths within the text that exist beyond time.

    of course there were.
Just like there have always been Muslims,
    AND Christians,
    and Jews,
    and Wiccans...

Muslim as a proper noun started with Muhammad only:

    [27:92] Say, ‘I am commanded only to serve the Lord of this city which He has made sacred, and to Him belong all things; and I am commanded to be of those who submit to God*;
[27:93] ‘And to recite the Qur’an.’ So whoever follows guidance, follows it only for the good of his own soul; and as to him who goes astray, say, ‘I am only a warner.’

*The word "Awwalul Muslameen" ,The First Muslim has been translated as "those who submit to God".

I am an advaitist Hindu and a strong atheist.
BhagawadGita was for a particular moment and a particular person who was confused. The teaching to Arjuna can be applied to many situations for all people in the whole world. It is simply this 'you should not shirk action in the way of righteousness and not be proud just to have performed your duty'.

Please read posts 26 and 27 again. The answer is way way too obvious.

Thanks for one's confirmation that Krishna and Bhagvad Gita came later and hence Veda/s do not mention them, if I understood one correctly. Please
    Regards
