This seems to be empty name-calling. I can't see any evidence here of Marxist doctrine being taken up. Frankly I'd be amazed, since the USA is one of the most economically right-wing nations on Earth.

    What's the evidence?

I think most of the Western world would consider US Dems to be right leaning honestly

    One of several dozen.
But the reason it's not even worse here (ie, more socialist)
is that the left has only about half of the political power.
Why do the tend in the Marxist direction?
    Belief in....
    - More government control over business.
    - More powerful centralized government.
    - Demonizing the wealthy.
    - Disdain for capitalism.

This is not to say that Democrats are Marxist.
But they lean in that direction more than Pubs.
(I run across some Pubs who express Marxist
    leaning views, eg, anti-big business.)

There's also the matter of the push by democrats to centralize government and threatening states rights.

Include that with controlling means of production (EVs anyone?) and you have a nice little recipe that would make Communist China proud.

Democrats are not Communists. But they both share some similarities. One is their core of collectivism.

The direction is clearly there. I'd say there's more than enough clues to see where it's all going.

Classic Marxism doesn't have a state. Yes, that is correct. In the end it is an anarchist/stateless philosophy, as abolishing the state is an ultimate goal of Classic Marxism.
Your first two points are wrong.

I suspect most conservatives have absolutely no idea what Marx actually said and wrote. Nor do they have any idea about just how far *right* the Democratic party is from an international perspective.

And when they talk about socialism, they seem to not comprehend that many democratic states have socialists in power and they do quite well.

I don't buy your example of "controlling the means of production".
They're not building government facilities to manufacture them.
But pushing for EVs is potentially sound environmental policy.

No, it's not. These Dems often call themselves "capitalist plus," they aren't out to abolish inheritance, they aren't out to do away with class, they are so far away from what Marx actually did write that any resemblance is coincidental.

    No...you're wrong.
    Those are cromulent Marxist views.
The fact that Marxism in its original conception was
inconsistent doesn't invalidate its conflicting tenets.
To impose socialism & communism cannot be done
    without a powerful central government.

It seems that fans of Marxism are the least able to
understand just what it is. Perhaps it's so complicated
that they read into it only what they want. In that way
    it's much like the Bible.

    Are you kidding?
    They want more authoritarian police.
To get rid of cops is more the province of anarchists.

Those aren't "cromulent" anything. That is Classic Marxism. Try actually reading something like this (Mueller's Report is another good example) before making such remarks because you are very wrong.
