Indeed-- a story about a 600 year old man-- with only 4 kids-- building a giant boat in the desert -- has got to be one of the funniest scams ever written.
I would bet $1,000 that if you had a Time Machine Viewer? And were to go back to see who the actual humans were, that inspired the Ark Story?
You could re-create the entire narrative, with a farmer, his wife, a couple of kids, several dogs, some cows, chickens too, goats and some sheep-- on a wooden 10 foot raft, on a lake for a longish weekend.
"Did you hear about old Noah? He nearly drowned when the lake flooded-- but he built a big raft and just floated there all weekend!"
"Did you hear about old Noah? He built this giant raft, and saved his whole farm! And the neighbor's too! They were on that lake for a week!"
"Did you hear about Noah? He built this giant raft-boat, and saved every animal in the village! He refused to flee the rising flood waters, claiming he could save the animals! He was out on the lake for a month!"
"Did you hear about this guy named Noah? He was 3 valleys over, and .... "
