When your life is falling apart -

If you’re a highly sensitive person, like me, you’re likely aware of your emotions. You know you have them. They never leave your side and you’re constantly reminded of what state you’re currently in. So, how do you deal with this fact?

Well, one solution is to embrace it. Be with your feelings. Sit down, welcome any emotion that needs to come forth, and feel it. You don’t always need to understand. You don’t need to analyze. You don’t need to fix anything, just be with it.

The process of self improvement often has a destructive impact mentally and and emotionally. If you ask what you “should do” or “should be” you become set up for self rejection. Your mind immediately creates a conceptual image of what you should be and another part of your mind determines that you are not the conceptual image you just created. The voice in your head makes a judgment that you are a failure for not meeting the mental image and you end up feeling “not good enough.” All of this because you don’t meet the conceptual image you fabricated in your mind; an image that isn’t even real.

But the good news is, you can change this, and if you ask them to, your angels will actually help you to tune into the frequency and notice their presence.

Angels are high vibrational spiritual beings, and so while they are always near and willing to help you, you have to tune into their wavelength to notice them. I’ve always liked the radio analogy… There’s a classical music station that’s always broadcasting, but unless you’re dialed into that frequency, you’ll completely miss it.

Even if you’re aware that your angels are looking out for you, it can sometimes feel like they are on another channel that you just quite can’t access.

Reading over some old pages ...

Psychology today inner enemy

Do you find yourself dwelling on negative thoughts about yourself—repeatedly putting yourself down, criticizing yourself, comparing yourself to other people you think are perfect? When you make a mistake, do you think it’s absolutely awful, that anyone else would have done a better job, and that it's an example of some permanent flaw you have? If so, then, like many people, you are often your own worst enemy, negating everything you do and blowing things up as if your mistakes are the worst that anyone can imagine.

Books that will change your life

One thing I learned from nearly two decades of reading is that pouring through books is of little value to you, relative to taking the best books and mastering them.

For instance, in speaking with someone about communications, I suggested, rather than reading a bunch of pretty good books, go deep into mastering Dale Carnegie’s How To Win Friends and Influence People.

Sure, there’s lots of great books out there on this topic, but in the end it’s not what you’ve read that counts, but specifically, how good are you at putting this knowledge to work?

Far from being the panacea we have all hoped for, meditation is undoubtedly a powerful tool – but it just doesn’t solve the deep-seated issues many of us carry.

In fact, no matter what spiritual practice/path you engage in, no matter what hallowed tool you hold close to your heart, it is lopsided, deformed, and misguided without some form of inner psychological work.

Our spiritual paths need an element of psychological exploration and healing, otherwise, they are prone to issues such as spiritual materialism, spiritual narcissism, denial, avoidance, repression, dissociation, disconnection, poor sense of self, and retraumatization. Ya hear me?

Have you ever looked yourself in the mirror so deeply that the sheer notion of what you like to call self, dissipated in a vertigo of angst and abstraction?

It is a strange feeling.

A feeling a bit arcane but also kind of familiar.

Something that seems wrong but also right.

Something we are almost incapable of describing, but we also, somehow, understand.

Something that we feel it can alter the structure of our paradigm in a very fundamental way.
