Ego traps ...

In the garb of ‘self-esteem’ most people have inflated egos. The first casualty as a result of high ego is your peace of mind. Here’s how ego, your false self, destroys your happiness.

The illusion of superiority

Ego makes you feel superior to others. Can anyone become superior to any other person in every aspect of life? It is impossible. Everyone is unique. God or Nature does not create duplicates of anyone. So ideally the feeling of superiority should not arise. You might say, “I have more wealth or more qualifications than others.” But even that does not mean you are superior to others, because they may have more of something else that you do not have, but wish for. One way to reduce your ego is to accept your own uniqueness and also appreciate the uniqueness of others.

Try - very well mind face fears ...

A little bit of fear is normal. In fact, fear helps you instinctively protect yourself from harm. Your fear might help you to recognize when you’re about to do something dangerous, and it could help you to make a safer choice.

But, you might find yourself fearful of things that aren’t actually dangerous, like public speaking. Your fear of public speaking might prevent you from advancing in your career or participating in traditions like giving a toast at your best friend's wedding.

From a recent email about sleep problems - this being the first 2 catch my eye -

Spiritual awakening shifts around a lot of stuff in our inner worlds, and having all the inner furniture moving can certainly cause a lot of ruckus in other rooms in our inner home. One notable room is how we sleep. Because sleep is one of the fundamental elements of being a human being, not getting enough or not getting the right kind of sleep directly impacts how you feel and experience life. Sleep issues often underlie the chronic fatigue issue that also can show up for a lot of people during an awakening.

Spiritual awakening process - not just first couple -

Spiritual awakening is a slow, gradual process that happens when a person understands that their existence goes beyond the confines of the “I” or the ego.

In Taoist philosophy, Eastern spiritualists call the ego or the everyday self the acquired mind.

Who we are currently — the things we like, our behaviors, our preferences and convictions — are acquired over years of socialization.

These distinct characteristics we pick up, no matter how unique, don’t really make up a full self just yet.

As products of evolution, humans are a self-preserving species; it’s in our DNA to want to resist change.

5 essential stages of spiritual awakening (and 15 common symptoms)
