Yes, good question.
I shall tell you what I think about the fact the human race of people is like God's children. We can't be judged until we grow up.
I have an idea about what it might be about, but I am probably wrong...again.

I think that we can only be judged if we judge ourselves. Innocent children don't judge, hence they must grow up (= start judging) first
