So I can't reply to what is said in a post?post as thread title......please
an excellent title ......for a threadHas a god ever spoken personally to you?
Here is Jesus talking about it again. Here is Jesus Christ talking to His Disciples about Eternal life compared to material life.
To which I responded: "Meaningless. Computer in front of me, window on my left, couch and carpet under me, dining room straight ahead -- no souls, sorry."you have a location.....
look around you
To which I now have to say: you are saying words, but they are entirely woo and and without meaning. I have no doubt if you had something meaningful to say, you could find the words to do so. That you do not convinces me that you really don't have anything meaningful to say on this topic.so you don't get it...
ok
so......you don't have a location?I asked you to show me a living soul without living tissue, to which you responded:

This elicted the following response from you:

What on earth are you on about? My location was as I explained -- my living room. Window to my right, computer in front, etc.so......you don't have a location?
you don't know where you are?
you do seem confused
@Frank Goad -
On what basis do you trust the KJV translation of Hebrew scripture?
So, style is more important to you than accuracy?I just like their style best.
So, style is more important to you than accuracy?
If you look at Ezekiel 18:20 in the kjv.It says the soul that sins it shall die.It doesn't say he or she will die.It says it shall die(referring to the soul). Also in James 5:20 it says the exact opposite.
I believe it means, the "spiritual Qualities" die. The soul will have spiritual qualities. If a Soul sinned, its spiritual qualities will die.
For example Jesus said, Let dead bury their own dead.
Although This "dead" is literally alive, but is called dead. It is a metaphor for "death of spiritual qualities", so the person is deaf, dumb and cannot understand.
Ezekiel means the same.
No, the soul cannot die because the soul is immortal. Only physical things die. The soul is not physical so it cannot die. Any scriptures that say that a soul dies mean that the soul will not not have eternal life, but that soul will still continue to exist forever in the spiritual world. For example:
Matthew 16:24-26 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Jesus was saying to deny our selfish desires, things we want that are not of God, and to follow in His Way. For whoever will live for self shall lose his eternal life, but whoever will sacrifice his life for the sake of Jesus shall gain eternal life. So if we live for self and the worldly things we gain the world but we lose our soul because we lose eternal life. Eternal life refers to a “quality” of life, nearness to God, which according to Jesus comes from believing in Him and following in His way.
Do you care if the translation you are using is not right? Do you care when the Bible doesn’t say what you think it says because the translation is wrong? A simple yes or no answer will suffice.I just trust it more then other bibles because when I was growing up that was my family's go to bible. Thus why I like it's style.
The soul is a sign of God, a creation of God, so I see no reason why God would eliminate it. A soul can sink to a low condition, but it can never die because it is eternal.I believe the soul is a creation and anything created can also be eliminated.
It is possible that a spirit has some physicality. No-one knows for sure except God.
If you look at Ezekiel 18:20 in the kjv.It says the soul that sins it shall die.It doesn't say he or she will die.It says it shall die(referring to the soul). Also in James 5:20 it says the exact opposite.
Those verses mean that the soul that sins will not have eternal life, so it will be as a dead soul.God does not lie to us. If the bible says the 'soul dies' then the soul dies. There is no life after death.
