The number 100 came from both BuzzFeed and NPR.
BuzzFeed explained that the pool didn't allow more than 20 guests.
Tom
Thanks.
"Benet Embry, a black man who hosts a local radio show, said more than 100 teens were at the pool,
the AP reported. The issue was not race, said Embry, who lives in the neighborhood, but a teenage party that got out of hand. The homeowners association allows residents to host pool parties at the community pool with up to 20 guests.
Grace Stone, a white 14-year-old, told BuzzFeed News that when she and her friends objected to the racist comments about public housing, an adult woman then became violent."
So something a long those lines. I don't think it was unreasonable for cops to show up at a disturbance call. That's basically their job. I think people were concerned about this guy being crazily aggressive (even his partners are like, dude, chill out) and pulling his gun out at kids. I have no idea if the "white equivalent" would have evoked the same response. I expect douche bags to potentially be douche bags at any moment. That a cop yelling that much at a bunch of kids for what appears to be no particular goal, and using 10 years in the military experience and Krav Maga training to take an uppity 14-year-old girl in a bikini, isn't really that much of a surprise.
