The conundrum that while trying to save the day the hero’s empower the bad guy and have a harder fight as a result.
“Stable” societies where each women bares exactly 2 kids.
The earth ran out of resources
Greedy corporation is happy to see people die in mass to make a few bucks.

The hero of the story risks death of the entire crew
& destruction of the ship to save 1 or 2 people...with
scant chance of success. Terrible decision, yet it
always turns out well....of course!

The nightclub of the future filled with obvious human actors in weird costumes to simulate "aliens". Seems like every sci-fi movie has to have that scene, and it NEVER comes off as being in any way believable.
