Louisiana church fires: Law enforcement official's son taken into custody, reports say - CNN
A man arrested in connection with fires at three historically black Louisiana churches is a law enforcement official's son, according to local reports.

Authorities said they will announce significant updates in the case -- in which three churches were burned in 10 days -- at a news conference Thursday at 10 a.m. (11 a.m. ET) at the St. Landry Parish Sheriff Public Safety Complex in Opelousas.

St. Landry Parish is a rural area studded with crawfish ponds and bayous in the heart of Cajun and Creole country. It is 56 percent white and 41 percent black....and incorrectly extend the population percentages to the church membership?

My opinion was based on odds and what made sense. You took the 'rare' side and lied intentionally. Stop trolling, conservatives are known for lying and making stuff up.

Your media is to blame. Looks like I was right all along. I love odds. I take it you're not a betting man?

ST. LANDRY PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Officials say the man arrested in connection to the burning of three historically black churches in Louisiana may have been influenced by black metal.

Holden Matthews, 21, the son of St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Roy Matthews, was arrested and charged with three counts of simple arson on a religious building. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 15 years.

“We can now confirm all three of these fires are intentionally set and all three of these fires are related,” State Fire Marshal Butch Browning said.

The motive is still under investigation but Browning said Matthews may have been influenced by “black metal music,” which has been associated to church burnings.

Black metal is an aggressive, fast-tempo, heavily distorted sub-genre of heavy metal music with origins in Scandinavia. In the early 1990s, a rash of church arsons in Norway by fans of the music were described by leaders of the movement as acts of protest against Christianity ruling over a country rooted in Paganism.​

I'm not attesting to the factuality of the above report. I'm just posting the latest.

Back in the 80's, my skinhead friends used to listen to Nine Inch Nails and Primus. And they wore Doc Martin's.
