“How can we resist the temptation to look at pornography?
Three helpful steps are (1)*Quickly averting our view if we are exposed to erotic imagery. (2)*Guarding our thoughts by focusing on positive things and praying to God. (3)*Guarding our step by avoiding films or Web sites that contain pornography.

Or stop resisting and enjoy the natural urges of the body that are so inextricably a part of being human.

If he were trying to resist heroin would you give him the same advice?

Except craving heroin isn't natural. Seeking sexual gratification, on the other hand, is about as natural as it comes for human behavior.
I too say why resist? An active imagination and a brief trip to fantasy land is a good thing.

Well, pornography can become an addiction for some people. Do you realize that?

Anything can be addicting. Food, gambling, routines, anything can potentially ensnare the user in addiction.

And neither is craving pornography. None of us were born with a porno mag in our hands.

And telling them to give in to their natural urges would be detrimental to them.

I do! And go through that addiction myself sometimes. But so isn't food, and I do not recommend shunning food.

I think avoiding natural urges (such as eating or sexual desire) is more harmful than good. Better to participate in such natural human expressions in an open and healthy way than to shun and deride as something to be ignored.

We aren't born with many things that we need in our hands, but we need them anyways (such as water and food). We aren't born with a porn mag in our hands, but as we mature our hormones give us a sex drive. And seeking to gratify those natural urges is a very natural thing to do.

True, but porn addiction is not a rampant or widespread problem. Porn viewing doesn't even inherently lead to porn addiction.

Actually, pornography activates our innate response mechanisms towards sexual drive in the same way the scent and appearance of food does. So we were kind of born with a porno mag in our heads. :D

Apparently my terminology is out of date:

This isn't, of course, meant to say that everyone should indulge in pornography. It is a personal choice, and it's not for everyone. Like food, people have different sexual needs (if any at all. Nothing wrong with being asexual!), but that doesn't mean that pornography should be avoided by everyone. I may be wrong, but the spirit of the OP strikes me as simply being anti-pornography.

be physically and spiritually around people who are clear of pornography. sexual calmness is in people's aura. it is marked in their energy, like love, anger or hate would in one's. you will benefit from being close to them. also dont be harsh to yourself. the more you mentally will try to resist, the more you will attract the unwanted.spend your time with those clear of it. spend time with old people, your family, kids, babies, spiritual people listen to them, pay attention to their calmness.the more time you spend alone if you are addicted the more you will get involved in your addiction.

Try telling this to a teenage boy. It doesn't matter how many babies he's around, his high levels of testosterone will give him a strong sex drive. Also it a gross misrepresentation, false belief, and very unfortunate that people believe old people are asexual because they aren't.

I like hentai but that is it. I find it weird anybody is worrying over pornography in this day of age. Porn is porn, if you find it entertaining so be it.

Yeah. No one is harmed by consensual porn (especially when it's animated), and whose to judge as long as it doesn't harm anyone?

My only issue with people is that they do not explore porn, they may find something they like in real life. I am not even sexual and there are certain things in porn, especially hentai that amuse me.
I happened to appreciate erotic themes because I actually gave porn a chance :p.

Do you find a need to explore heroin? You might find something you like. In fact I guarantee you will find something you like.
