Was you baptised as a child?

I was baptised as a child in a evangelical-lutheran church. I have left that church and christianity. Now i am a new ager

Was you baptised as a child?

Did you left the church or are you still a member?
I was baptized when I was 10, I first born again when I answered the call to Believe in Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins. Part of being made a new creation and wanting to obey the Lord who saved me is to be water baptized, among so many other things God leads us to do. It's an outward confession to family and others of the regeneration that takes place when we are adopted into the family of God. Dying to self and living for God.

Is there anything in your culture that you would consider comparable to Christian baptism?

Perhaps the Shahada, despite (far as I know) it not requiring the participation of a Islamic priest?

Islamic doctrine teaches that people are born Muslims by default, so there's no need to perform any ritual to make a baby or child a Muslim.

For an adult converting to Islam, yes, the Shahada is required, and it doesn't have to be recited in front of an imam or anyone else. The person only has to believe in it and recite it even if on their own.

I were baptized as a baby. The way the good lord intended with just a sprinkle of water. Turns out that it did not take.
Actually the biblical method of water "Baptism" is to be immersed in Water, signifying our dying (under the water) representing our Death, then being brought back up, signifying our being made a New Creation. Water Baptism is an outward expression and confession to others that we are now Born Again! The act itself does not save us. This is the work of God to regenerate us, not ourselves.

What is required of us, is to believe ( Have Faith) in the redeeming power that is given as a result of the actual death and burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of our sins.

The other important part to be Born again is to Repent! Many mis-understand this most beautiful part. It is the turning (in our minds, our hearts) from our selves, our life of self, and surrendering to the Will and the Life that God created us to live!

This too is from God in that he grants us the power to do so!

NOONE is truly Born Again, whom God did not first call, draw, and grant the understanding (Grace) to do so. Our part is to respond and believe and receive NEW LIFE in Christ Jesus!

No, although my 3 elder siblings were. My first venture at vacation Bible school (everyone in the community sent their kids, United Church of Canada, in a very rural setting) lasted one day. I guess my objections weren't worth the fuss for Mom.

Kinda but I didn't get dunked all the way the first time. I got re baptized as an adult. I'm attending a church near me but not a member at the moment.

No religious beliefs
I was "christened" as a baby in the Congregational church. I never really believed in Christianity (it never made any sense to me) but I later attended the local CofE so I could go to the youth club they ran. There wasn't much going on for teens in the small town where I lived.

Interesting thing, I've somewhere got the idea that the Congregational church doesn't exist any more. I looked it up, and it does. Weird how we get these wrong ideas.

Much later, I had a period of religious belief (long story) and I joined the United Methodist church. I decided to get baptized there as I thought the original time didn't really count. It was a bit embarrassing as they were doing a baby at the same time ....

After a few years of that my belief kind of faded away and I no longer attend any church.

I don't think I was baptized as a child. I didn't go to church for the first time until I was 5 and that was because it was an Episcopalian school. I went to church in elementary school for a couple of years, but all I remember is Sunday school. I got baptized twice as an adult. Once in the name of the F, S and HS, and second time in the name of Jesus. I wanted to cover all of the bases.

I was told that I was.

As to whether or not it actually happened, I have no idea - humans don't remember anything from that young.

Quit before hitting double digits of age. Couldn't tell you exactly when. Seven? Eight? Nine? Whatever.

I see that you can not spot an obvious joke.

And I am rather amazed that you just called your own God evil.

No, but I've been baptized twice that I can remember. Once as a teenager (16?) And once as an adult (late 20s)

If your ex-sect does infant baptism and your parents were regular church goers when you were born then you were probably baptized. But I know nothing of your family or the church they went to.
Neither do I. I did not grow up with my parents

Edit: I could ask my dad now that we in contact but i dont know if its important enough for me to ask

I am not a Christian any longer, but I know that my brother went through it again in his 20's.
Not a christian either. I do know the folk i ended up living with every caregiver I've had after l left my dad's at age 7 were all Christians abett different sects likely. Whether I was baptised by them again is unknown as my memory is broken I barely remember my childhood

Trying to think on it if i was
...i remember hearing singing in a nursing home...was visiting my great grandma...lovely christian music and wishing I wasnt going away from Christianity... I followed it and ending up sitting with a bunch of old ladies listening...i remember another incident where my foster sibling was baptised in a huge tub...

But no memories of me being baptized.

Edit: maybe i left Christianity sooner then I remember and went back at one point before leaving? My great grandma died before I was a teen. Idk. Brain hurts trying to recall as much as i have
