If Jesus Christ is Almighty God then why are we to pray to God through Jesus Christ?

Soapy

Son of his Father: The Heir and Prince
God is spirit. That is what He is made of. If I have a house made of bricks, are the bricks a separate house? If God is made of spirit, is the spirit a separate God? I believe there is a Father made of spirit and a Son made of spirit. That is two persons. The spirit that they are made of is not a third person.
God isn’t MADE OF anything!

Flesh is made of something - SPIRIT is not a substance!

Before the PHYSICAL world was created there was nothing of substance.

If you must classify God as ‘something’ then you should think of something like ‘Uncontained Energy’.
It has no form, no shape, occupies no space, is everywhere all at the same time (albeit that ‘everywhere’ is a human term), and is unlimited in power.

God then created Angels. Angels are same Spirit but have LIMITATIONS of power and are CONTAINED such that they can be differentiated one from another.

And God created the world USING these powerful creatures … Glance at the immensity and enormity of the created world around you and understand what kind of POWER would be used to shape its creation and evolution.

And when the conditions were right, God created microbes, bacteria, plants, trees, insects, fish, birds, animals to be a fully cyclic self regulating (boring!) eco-system!

So God created a MANAGER creature, Man, to reshape it to his own desire and thus inject CHANGE in it.

It’s a long way round for saying that God created SUBSTANCE from the unfashioned energy that he is.
Unless you don’t know of already, all things you see and are is VASTLY CONTAINED ENERGY… even a crumb of bread contains a vast amount of energy - even a atom is so… hence the desire of man to unleash energy from atoms (Atom bomb, Large Hadron Collider, Nuclear energy!)

‘If God is made of Spirit’… this shows you do not know what you are talking about and thus any response (as above) won’t be of any use to you but I show of here for others reading this thread.

The Spirit of God does not mean ‘another being’. It means ‘The active usage of the energy force that IS directed BY God’.

Trinitarians seem to have a problem with understand simple language such that ‘Of’ means ‘Is’ to them. You do the same here.

‘Son OF God’ does not mean ‘Son IS God’. It means that ‘Son’ is a model of God (image of) - which is that ‘Son’ behaves SPIRITUALLY as GOD would behave.

Hence Jesus says that he can do only what he first sees the Father doing… he imitates God. If he were God, as Trinitarians say, then he would have no need to IMITATE what he already is… nor be TAUGHT what he already WOULD KNOW!

Maybe "spirit" is a substance like "energy" which cannot be seen or touched. Maybe it is a substance known only to God. ou say God is not made of anything. I saw God is made of spirit or energy. Something not physical.

I do not agree with the scriptures that you listed to supporting that Jesus Christ and God.

I agree. These scripture-in the book of Matthew-supports your post.

“This is my Son…”-3:17
“…son of God…“ (4:3); “…Jehovah’s mouth…” (4:4); “…son of God…” (4:6); “Jehovah your God…” (4:7); “…Jehovah your God you must worship…”-4:10
“…your Father who is in the heavens.“ (5:16, 45) “…heavenly Father…”-5:48
“…Father who is in the heavens” (6:1); “..pay to your father…” (6:6); “…God your father…” (6:8); “Our father in the heavens…” (6:9); “…heavenly Father…”-6:14, 26, 32
“…your Father who is in the heavens…“-7:11, 21
“…Son of God…“-8:29
“…my Father who is in the heavens…“ (10:32, 33); “…sent me forth.”-10:40
“…Father…“-11:25-27
“…my Father who is in the heaven…“-12:50
“You are really God’s son.“-14:33
“…my heavenly father…“-15:13
“…son of the living God…” (16:16); “…my Father who is in the heavens…“ (16:17); “…come in the glory of his Father…“-16:27
“This is my Son…“-17:5
“…my Father who is in the heaven…“ (18:10, 14); “…my Father in heaven…”(18:19); “…my heavenly Father…”-16:35
‘…my Father…“-20:23
“…your Father, the heavenly one…“ (23:9); “…your Leader…” (23:10); “…he that comes in Jehovah’s name!”-23:39
“…neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.”-24:36
“…blessed by my Father…“-25:34
“…in the kingdom of my Father.“ (26:29); “My Father…” (26:39, 42, 53); “By the living God…Christ the Son of God!” (26:63); “You yourself said it…”-26:64
“Certainly this was God’s Son.“-27:54
“All authority has been given me…“-28:18

Again, this is only a sampling of scriptures-taken from one book-that clearly differentiates Jesus from God Almighty.

Mark La Buda good to meet you...
God the Father is spirit
The Word is spirit
The Holy Spirit is spirit. God is SPIRIT!

The "WORD" became flesh and lived on earth! God became man Spirit took on flesh!!
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.

Christians believe in ONE God!
Christians believe Jesus is God became man!
The Jehovah Witness believe in Many gods... They cannot be Christian! They added "A" to John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was "A" God. Plural (More than one)!

Christians believe in ONE God
Christians believe Jesus is God

Mark La Buda Arius WAS a Christian until he rejected what Christians believe! Christians rejected Arius as a
False Teacher as a Heretic! (Below) This is Scripture Prophesy!
2 Peter 2:1

But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.

Mark La Buda This Prophesy CANNOT work in the reverse... Christians were NOT AMONG Arius, he was
AMONG Christians, this Prophesy proves the idea of "Jesus is NOT God" is a heresy because that is what Arius believed! This prophesy also proves what the Christian believes IS The Way of Truth; and proves those who teach Jesus is NOT God as Arius did are NOT part of the truth!

Thomas (Apostle) is a Christian, he believed Jesus is God!
Christians are BLESSED!
John 20:28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.CLEARLY....

Mark La Buda clearly those who do NOT believe as Thomas "Jesus is God" are NOT blessed!

This thread is about why do we pray to God through Jesus. I think that means we should pray to the Father through his Son, Jesus. Jesus was with the Father at the beginning in the form of the Word. He later took on a human body and lived on earth. He is now sitting at the right hand of the Father and acts as our high priest and go-between when we pray to the Father.

I'd like to add that when all is under Jesus' feet, he hands over everything to the One who subjected all things under his feet.
1 Corinthians 15 brings this out.
24: Next, the end, when he hands over the Kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power.
25 For he must rule as king until God has put all enemies under his feet.+ 26 And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing. 27 For God “subjected all things under his feet.” But when he says that ‘all things have been subjected,’ it is evident that this does not include the One who subjected all things to him. 28 But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone.

Two Thousand years ago God became man! NOW...
lostwanderingsoul
now today we are asked to believe God become "Bread and Wine"!

Back two thousand years ago people could not wrap their minds around a; man God! Today we have Eucharist, the Apostles ate the living flesh of Jesus they drank his precious blood!
1 Cor 11:27 So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. 29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.

Satan entered Judas when he ate the flesh of Jesus at the Last Supper!
John 13:27
As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So, Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.

You might draw a map and put an "X" on it and say "this X is the store on Main Street." What you mean is that the X REPRESENTS the store on Main Street. Jesus never said he was changing the bread into his actual body. He was saying that the bread would represent his body for ceremonial purposes. When you want to remember Jesus eat the bread that represents his body. The bread does not physically change when blessed by the priest. It is still bread but represents Jesus body just like the X on the map represents the store on Main Street.

lostwanderingsoul you have been misled...
Christians have ALWAYS eaten the flesh of Jesus in the form of bread! The early Church Fathers interpreted these passages literally. Irenaeus teaches that the bread and wine are really the Lord’s body and blood. Paul in Cor 11 did not say it was metaphor; He said otherwise "those who eat CONDEMN themselves"!
Ignatius of Antioch
I have no taste for corruptible food nor for the pleasures of this life. I desire the bread of God, which is the flesh of Jesus Christ . . . and for drink I desire his blood, which is love incorruptible” (Letter to the Romans 7:3 [A.D. 110]).
lostwanderingsoul note the early date. A.D. 110

Justin Martyr
For not as common bread nor common drink do we receive these; but since Jesus Christ our Savior was made incarnate by the word of God and had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so too, as we have been taught, the food which has been made into the Eucharist by the Eucharistic prayer set down by him, and by the change of which our blood and flesh is nurtured, is both the flesh and the blood of that incarnated Jesus” (First Apology 66 [A.D. 151]).

Jesus did not say it was metaphor...
lostwanderingsoul He said it was real flesh & blood!
53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.

Thank you but I assure you that not all Christians believe this. Only those who have been brain washed by large churches do not know any more about it than others. lostwanderingsoul Like what... Do you accept the teaching; Jesus is both God and Man this truth comes from the Catholic Counsel of Nica, is this a pagan idea?!
Or your Bible; put together by the Holy Catholic Church none other! You reject the Catholic Church then how can you be sure your bible is the true words of God?! You Can't! FACT: The Holy Catholic Church with the help of the Holy Spirit decided what books are truly the inspired words of God and what ones were not! Even if all the manuscripts started with "This is the inspired words of God" we still would have needed an AUTHORITY to decide the truly inspired works because the phony manuscripts would also have started with "This is the inspired words of God" The Holy Catholic Church with the help of God picked out of the hundreds of manuscripts only the inspired words of God! DON'T....

lostwanderingsoul
don't you think if God helped in deciding the inspired works that he would not also stick around and help her interpret his words! There is NO INDEX of the books of scriptures found in the scriptures YOU MUST trust she got it right or toss your bible out your stinking bathroom window if you reject the Catholic Church, the choice is yours!
FACT: The Early Church Father ate the flesh of Jesus in the form of bread... Long before Constantin! What's your excuse for rejecting God' words! It can only be you accept the teaching of your church over the scriptures! Word for word... "My flesh is real food"!
Paul ate the flesh of Jesus in the form of bread!
15 I speak to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say. 16 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? 17 Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all share the one loaf.

lostwanderingsoul Catholics believe the words of Jesus! Our God the God of the Catholic is almighty! Our God can take any form he wants to take... A Dove, Man, Smoke, A Burning Bush, Sheer Silence and yes even the form of bread! Catholic never put God into a box saying what God can do and what God cannot do! Apparently, your God is NOT the God of the Catholic or the Apostles, your God is NOT almighty, your God cannot take the form of bread, your God cannot feed you his living flesh!
29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body.

Catholics are NOT Jews we believe the teaching of God!
52 Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
lostwanderingsoul Catholics believe the words of God and that God cannot misguide or lie to his children! Apparently After Jesus spent half a Chapter (John 6) telling you how important eating his flesh was he ended his teaching with "forgetaboutit all I just said did not mean anything"!

lostwanderingsoul thank you for your reply...
First.. The Early Church made the first day holy! Catholics worship on the Lord’s Day, the first day of the week (Sunday, the eighth day); the day when God said, “Let there be light” (Gen. 1:3); the day when Christ rose from the dead; the day when the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles (Day of Pentecost). The early Church did not move the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. Instead “The Sabbath, which represented the completion of the first creation, has been replaced by Sunday, which recalls the new creation inaugurated by the Resurrection of Christ”
  • On the first day of the week when we gathered to break bread, Paul spoke to them because he was going to leave on the next day, and he kept on speaking until midnight (Acts 20:7).
  • On the first day of the week each of you should set aside and save whatever one can afford, so that collections will not be going on when I come (1 Cor. 16:2).
  • Let no one, then, pass judgment on you in matters of food and drink or with regard to a festival or new moon or Sabbath (Col. 2:16).
lostwanderingsoul The Sabath is Saturday; Christians are NOT Jews we have always Celebrate Sundays the day Jesus rose!

Yes, Christians eat the flesh of Jesus in the form of bread... Jesus' feed "US" himself. The more of Jesus we consume we then become more like Jesus!
53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
Christians believe God cannot lie! Jesus IS "the Life"! The way the truth & the LIFE!

54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.
lostwanderingsoul All who eat the flesh of Jesus will have eternal life!

55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.
Do you see it? REAL FOOD!

56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.
Baptism ADDS us to the Body of Jesus; Communion KEEPS us in his body!

57 Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.
lostwanderingsoul YES. Christians are the Body of Jesus; Christians have always eaten the body of Jesus; God feeds us himself; True Manna! The fruit from the Tree of Life!!

58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”
Jesus is LIVING MANNA... Living forever food!

lostwanderingsoul This verse come after the ones above... 63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.
The words Jesus spoke (Past Tense) are the words he spoke (above) you MUST believe the words as Christians have always believed!

66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve
.
NOTE: Jesus does NOT call them back! Jesus does NOT say; "I did not mean my words, don't go"! FACT IS: Jesus turns and asks his Apostles if they will go also proving... Jesus meant every word "My Flesh is real food"!
Christians have ALWAYS eaten the flesh of God in the form of bread! Our God can take on any form he wants to take even the form of bread!
Luke 24:34 and saying, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” 35 Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.

John 15:5
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you
.
Martin Luther and the rest of the de-Formers did NOT remain in Jesus' Holy Catholic Body!!

And I thank you for your detailed reply. Let me just say two things. Only God is holy and only God can make something holy. The early church had no power to make any day holy. Second, nothing in the Bible says Jesus rose from the tomb on Sunday. It says people went to the tomb early on the first day of the week and the tomb was EMPTY. Maybe he rose on Saturday night or even earlier. Most of what the "church" believes was invented by men not God.

I reply:
Matthew 28:1
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
Jesus must have risen between sunset Saturday and dawn Sunday.
lostwanderingsoul Sunset Saturday is the first day of the week! Sunset Saturday is the start of a new day>> SUNDAY! The Jews reckoned the day as beginning at sunset, which is why we read the phrase “evening and morning” in the Bible rather than the more modern phrase “day and night.” To the Jewish readers of Scripture, the new day began at sunset.

The People come together on Sunday the Church breaks bread on the first day of the week! The Christians worships on Sunday always have!!
Acts 20:7
On the first day of the week, we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight.

lostwanderingsoul Jesus is ALWAYS WITH his Church to the very end of the world; this means he cannot be with yours because he did not start your Church. Yours was started by a man 1900 plus years AFTER Jesus! To say different is to believe that somehow Satan overpowered Jesus and Satan TOOK the body of Jesus from Jesus!

Matthew 28:20 teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
Did you see it? I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
Jesus is ALWAYS with his One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church! Apostolic because; Jesus' CHURCH has roots going back to the Apostles. Fact: Peter was the first Chief Bishop!

Mark 14:12
The Last Supper
On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus’ disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”

lostwanderingsoul Jesus is a LAMB, all Passover sacrifices MUST be eaten!
1 Corinthians 5:7
Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.
lostwanderingsoul Christians have ALWAYS eaten the flesh of Jesus in the form of bread. Always, long before Constantin came along!

Your Words... Most of what the "church" believes was invented by men not God.

I reply.. Jesus gave the world a Church with AUTHORITY to Teach, Rebuke Correct and Train! Jesus gave God' AUTHORITY to his CHURCH!
John 20:21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.

lostwanderingsoul You reject the Church you then reject Jesus and God!
Luke 10:16
“Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”

Again, thank you for your detailed answer. And again I will say two things. There is no proof Jesus rose any time between sunset Saturday and sunrise Sunday. All we know is that the tomb was EMPTY on Sunday morning. Maybe he rose at noon on Saturday. No one was watching and looking inside the tomb. Second, you know nothing about my religion. It was not started 1900 years later. My beliefs follow facts and Bible information and not ideas made up by people who do ot follow the Bible.

Maybe "spirit" is a substance like "energy" which cannot be seen or touched. Maybe it is a substance known only to God. ou say God is not made of anything. I saw God is made of spirit or energy. Something not physical.
‘MADE’…. God is not MADE of anything. God’s Spirit is like THOUGHT - Thought and Heavenly Spirit are not MADE of physical substance.

We analogalise heavenly spirit LIKE what we understand in the physical world. I only said that we can imagine that God’s spirit is like ENERGY… everything in the physical world is made of energy: an atom’s construction is pure condensed energy.

The link is that Heavenly Spirit is PURE POWER. Such Power is not a visible or touchable substance - Gravity is HUGE and relatively tiny - both in respect of context. We can’t touch or see it BUT IT AFFECTS US hugely and minorly.

Holy angels can be MONSTROUSLY POWERFUL and yet also as Gentle as a feather or as delicate as the tiniest high power medical instrument.

GOD, himself, DOES NOT CARRY OUT ANY ACT ‘physically’. God created these incredible creatures FROM the power that is his spirit. These angels are also PURE POWER but are limited, encased in limits of a ‘name’ (angels don’t really have names but I don’t have another word for what I’m saying!) . An angel can be called to action by God by its ‘name’. We are not authorised - we are advised NOT TO - call upon an angel… call upon powers (angels) of God!

You should be able to see the next step in that if pure spirit can be ‘Encased’, then why can there not be a MODEL of the heavenly realm in a fully power encased physical world with greater limits than the Angel spirits: ‘Man was made a little lower than the angels!’

So then, man is made as a RULER in his physical world… An image of God who is RULER in His spirit World!

The creation of man is therefore a contribution of the greatest angel - the one who came to be named ‘Satan’: Let us make man in our likeness’.

This “likeness” cannot be ‘physical’. It cannot be ‘Spirit’ (even animals are body and spirit’.. No! It means: ‘High intelligence; ability to rule; design, create (not just Procreate!!!), to love and forgive and nurture (Care for) and husband (Care over)… like God.

The BODY of Adam was created by the Angel. God does not physically create - he gives commands to his angel and it is they that DO HIS WORKS:
  • ‘Sons of God are they who do the works of God!!’
But, the body was lifeless… only God can ENLIVEN the body since only God can create spirits : He is the Father of Spirits.

So, though God consulted with the senior angel (‘Let us create man…!’, the enlivening of the man AS A LIVING SOUL was the direct injecting of a spirit into the body of the man:
  • ‘And the man became a LIVING SOUL’
And also, when the spirit leaves the body - when the person dies - the spirit GOES BACK TO GOD.

And for this reason God says it is a sin to take the life a person without authorisation from Him (answers many questions I’ve seen elsewhere in this and other forums!!)
  • He Give The Spirit and so Only He Can Take It Back!!!

I must say this is very interesting. I never heard anyone say Adam's body was made by an angel. And I never heard anyone say that God's sons are anyone who does God's works. If someone does a job for me, does that make him my son?
