If we don't go to the path towards God and light, where are we going?

All are going to the same destination by one path or another sooner or later no matter what the person's beliefs happen to be at any given time.

Where did you come from? Same sort of question, but I'm betting you have no idea of who/what/where you were before you were about 3. It is, for almost all of us, a complete blank. Yet, it's not a painful blank, it doesn't frighten you that you don't have any notion of your own existence then -- so why is it a problem for you in the future?

I think if we don't seek the means towards God and don't follow his proofs, we will go towards the darkness. Darkness has many flavors, all sorts of fun, ain't it? Temporary illusions, but at the end, when we can't control any actions we do but entirely subdued by dark forces, who can we blame but ourselves for not approaching the door of God?
Have you considered that the darkness is the illusion that belief in a God is a reward and righteous path?

Very few will refrain from trying to simply ridicule what you said. :)

Anyway, I do believe the last verse in the chapter answers it. Nice!

Yashaa allahu rabbul aalameen.

Nothing's changed. We have a life, we traverse it with better and worse experiences, then we say goodnight and never have to worry again.

I don’t think it’s ever too late to choose the light, do you? I’m sure God wants us all to turn to him (or her, or it). Maybe this will be so even after death.

With our own light, we create freedom, and hence where we travel in the future we know not?

Please don't worry, every mature human knows very well to where he is going.

Fortunately, there are many ruling gods offered on the world's table. Each law, said of god, is supposed to lead someone to the Light if he accepts to be submitted totally to it.

It seems that an atheist chooses a shortcut and knows in advance that he is going to nothing at the end.

It remains the case of those (though very rare) who are not atheist and don't see their Light in any imposed law, said of god or man.

Not every acorn becomes a tree. Those who are loyal to God and want to continue on will awake in the next life. Those who don’t want to continue cease to exist.

All roads...
Since we're talking metaphorically, I suppose evolution could be considered a road.
On the other hand, it probably has to do with how we perceive time. Could be we're already there.

Just to destruction.

Death.

They die, and then die again forever.

Weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Dreadful sorry Clementine.

My Book calls this the Second Death.

But it's logical. The people who think hell lasts forever can't imagine infinity into the future. Would an all knowing God condemn people to endless torment for a zillion years and more into an infinite future for the things done in this lonely short life?

No.

The smoke from their torment will ascend forever, but the dead shall become ash. Ashes under the feet of the living. The soul that sinneth, it shall die.

It is what it is.

Peaceful Sabbath.
