Governor Newsom issued an executive order to ensure all registered voters in California receive a mail-in ballot for the November election. Republicans are now suing the state.

"Numerous studies have found little evidence of voter fraud connected to voting by mail."

No, they know if every registered voter gets one their chances sink. But mail ballots ae probably going to be the only safe way to conduct this election.

Absolutely. The more people who vote, the worse the GOP tends to do.

Reuters! Finally a news link I can follow.

The way they have done is stupid and purposely so I think. They should have sued for different reasons, citing how it would affect the vote -- how it would help the Dems. That would have held up in court. After all, they already knew and could give some pretty solid statistics with very little data gathering, just using statistics and their own voter databases. The court could have acted on that. Instead they're trying to argue other crap that the court is likely to kick out. In other words this is an empty suit and posturing.

Since Trump doesn't accept the Constitution as we've repeatedly seen, is anyone really surprised that he favors voter-suppression of those more inclined to vote against him?

Me thinks its long overdo to call Conservatives and Republicans out on their own witch hunt, this ceaseless drivel about voter fraud that year after year, election after election, they turn up less than what Mueller dug up on Trump and Russia.

One vote, for one person. All get to vote. Republicans vanish. That's what they know will happen. So, "Stop the Vote", is the only political move they have to keep existing.

The GOP simply can't stand for it! How will they possibly win any elections if there aren't huge lines at the polling stations to discourage people from voting? Everyone in Oregon has been voting by mail for decades and it hasn't caused any voter fraud problems whatsoever.

It's like the republican establishment can't figure out why American workers wouldn't want capitalist policy over middle class policy.

Even as a conservative, I would support mail-in voting as we already do that.

The catch would be properly registering a person for which that mail is addressed to specifically. You don't want illegals or anyone who is not a legitimate citizen with the country to cast the vote just on the basis of receiving a letter and randomly sending it in.

Unless you count Deanna Swenson the Clackamas County election official convicted of altering ballots, or Lafayette Keaton who was convicted of voting using ballots of dead people, or Ricky Graybael who was convicted of voting multiple times in an election, or Terri Louise Kobialka who was convicted of voting using a stolen identity, or Jorge Jesus Hosier who was convicted of registering and voting even though he wasn’t eligible to, or the other half dozen case of Oregon vote by mail fraud convictions I could readily mention. So yeah, if you ignore all the evidence of fraudulent voting in Oregon, then there isn’t any.

Good, how long has America been doing it?

What catch? Isn't properly registering a person being done since the beginning decades ago?
Illegal citizens can't vote.....wait for it.....they're not citizens. Illegal citizens aren't bothering to send a fraudulent ballot as it doesn't benefit them. There's no way they'd qualify. There's no reason they'd want to announce to the government where their address is....because, wait for it.....they're not citizens.

Please DO show me the evidence that Oregon has greater issues with voter fraud because it uses mail in ballots than states where people have to show up at the polls to vote. How would ANY of the above instances been avoided if the people hadn't been allowed to vote by mail? If they wouldn't have been - and they wouldn't - then I stand by my original claim that mail in ballots haven't created any problems whatsoever.

I already cited cases that happened within the past 12 years, and ther are many more that could be cited. But I am sure that you are speaking from your heart when you say none of all those voting fraud convictions in Oregon didn’t create any problems. I’m sure they create no problems for those that agree with those committing the criminal acts. But they certainly create problems for anyone that supports following the law.

How silly... no one claimed that mail-in ballots would eliminate ALL voter fraud. The question is, does using mail-in ballots creates MORE voter fraud? And the answer is NO, it does NOT. The incidents of voter fraud you cited could just as easily have happened in a state WITHOUT mail-in ballots. Oregon using mail-in ballots for many decades now has NOT created a problem with increased voter fraud in the state of Oregon. Clearly you need to work on your reading comprehension.
