Liberal Democrats have abandoned free speech so they are no longer liberal. They are opposing the referendum result so they are no longer democratic.

Liberals have always supported free speech within the law.
As so many people have changed their mind over brexit in the light of evidence, they wish to offer every one the democratic opportunity To test that opinon today.

I recently read that while the House of Lords is technically higher in status than the House of Commons, the later is in practice more influential.

That is an interesting matter to consider. But seeing how the House of Lords houses people such as this much honorable lady, who has both the wisdom and the willingness to say badly needed messages, I have learned to value and cherish it. I wish there was someone comparable here in Brazil.

She was right about Jeremy Corbyn, but she does not understand democracy.

She praises the current Tory leader but even the former Tory deputy leader has announced that he will be voting for the Liberal Democrats who are neither liberal nor democratic.

Talk about rats leaving a sinking ship.

No, it is not rats leaving a sinking ship.
It is an attempt by Remainers to find a home/vote that represents their feelings on Brexit. This is trying to mitigate on Thursday money grabbing man Farage claiming that everyone wants a 'no deal' Brexit when they obviously don't and don't know what they are letting themselves in for.

Even the Remainer in chief at the BBC, Andrew Marr admits that the country now wants a ‘no deal’ exit from the EU.

What do you mean by that?

She praises the current Tory leader but even the former Tory deputy leader has announced that he will be voting for the Liberal Democrats who are neither liberal nor democratic.

Again, what do you mean by that?

Talk about rats leaving a sinking ship.

I take it that you do not mean Brexit as the sinking ship? Because it would actually be a perfect illustration.

"The Country" seems to have forgotten about that during the partial elections of a couple of weeks ago, doesn't it?

The way in which voters moved from Brexit-supporting parties (including the current ruling party and the official opposition) towards Remain-supporting parties was clear and dramatic, despite the awkward, stubborn attempts at denial from May and Corbyn.

One truly gets the sense that, instead, "the Country" has realized the folly of Brexit.

We will find out what the country wants next Monday.

To be accurate what you should have written was vassal state supporting parties if you are referring to the current ruling party and the official opposition.

I see the word "Vassal" has resurrected itself for the first time since the referendum. Only public schoolboys knew what it meant before then.

I don't think so.

We will find out what we already know: that Brexit is a polarizing subject matter, and one that brings a lot of passion.

To be accurate what you should have written was vassal state supporting parties if you are referring to the current ruling party and the official opposition.

That is so taurascatic.

Meanwhile, you Leavers keep resorting to insults, bravado and a stubborn refusal to face up the fact that you do not have the necessary answers on how to even implement Brexit, let alone cushioning the severe impact on the economy and quality of life.

Heck, you seem set on refusing to even admit how the tune of lead brexiteers has changed in three years.

Stephen Fry explains why dodgy millionaires are all for Brexit...

… also notice Farage calling for scrapping the NHS.

Losing control because of the EU is an illusion.
