Il Duce Donald shoves Prime Minister out of his way

It's truly a shame that some keep on defending the indefensible actions of Trump and some others, thus seemingly being unaware of the impact that such imagery has. On "Morning Joe" today, Joe Scarborough, a Republican and former representative from Florida, said that it's things like what Trump did that reinforces the "Ugly American" image that we all too often exhibit.

To put it another way, he's become a laughing stock amongst especially European leaders, and that has some serious implications. This, much like his perpetual lying and self-flattery, may have some significant implications down the road.

Well, it is kind of funny, though. I guess it's kind of an "Ugly American" thing, but Trump also gives off a kind of "regular Joe" vibe, even despite his vast wealth. In another life, he could have been selling hot dogs at Yankee Stadium, but here's "that guy" as President of the United States.

I can just picture the scene: "Yeah, I'm the President of the US of A. I'm the most important guy in this room. Get out of my way, you pipsqueak! You gotta problem with me lady? Tell it to the US Marines!" ;)

Trump reminds me of a lot of guys - the kind who hang around the local tavern and think they know everything about everything - usually very loud and boisterous with their opinions. Sometimes they show up on message boards from time to time. Sure, he's embarrassing and a laughing stock, but there's also something very "American" about him as well.

I never really liked Nixon or Reagan either, but I will give them somewhat indirect credit in that, when the world thinks we have a deranged madman in the White House, things seem to go smoother.

I always associated Trump with dumb white trailer trash.

Well I I appreciate the flattery and it certainly improved my mood and day that being said.... Still evading my question.

You said....

So I asked
now I'll admit useing the word assault was disingenuous of me and perhaps that's why you didn't take me seriously at first..latter I switched to calling it a physical interaction. He literally pushed a world leader at of the way. You haven't told me why that's no big deal. Yes it is. He pushed a world leader out of the way. It's only no biggy because who has even heard of that nation here and because they are NATO allies.

What is he shoved Putin at a g6 . Your telling me that's not an international incident?
If Trump shoved Putin that way, I'd love it!
(I dislike him.)
No it's not an "international incident".
Why do you defend trump so much?
Because there are so many misguided & even dishonest attacks.
As I've said before, I'll defend anyone, even those I largely oppose, when wrongly attacked.
Do you think I should only defend my allies?
You admit to not liking him and he hasn't and isn't draining the swamp. So why do you keep defending him? You can simply admit you were wrong. You don't even have to do that , just stop acting as a proxy for trump or even join in the critical analysis. Do you regret Trump and feel the need to double down In defense of him? I don't understand.
You're commanding me to stop being a "proxy for Trump"?
Geeze....I haven't called you a "proxy for Hillary".
A little tolerance, pulease.
I don't regret my vote, since I expected him to continue being who he was before the election.
So far, he's not done anything disasterous....like start a war.
If that happens, I might regret it.....but then, I voted against Hillary cuz she
is a hawk, who might've also sent us into war (as she has before).

Lighten up guy....it's OK to disagree about things....that should be interesting, not vexing.

So, let me guess, are you the only one who can draw that line?
No....anyone may jump in (& others have) to point out erroneous criticism.
Even his detractors have done so, eg, the "shoving" / "assault".
If you don't like these discussions or feel they are unfair, there are other topics to talk about. But continueing to throw every member who criticizes the guy under the whole "they are just lashing out about Hillary" is inaccurate.
Every member?
That's inaccurate.....you just don't notice the criticisms tacitly I approve of or even agree with.

Some members here have gone off the deep end at times.
They make up things to criticize, & they lash out personally when others disagree.
And some members are reasonable in their criticism & even loathing of Trump.
Ya gotta notice differences.

Enough that it has become a noticeable pattern in lieu of a genuine response.
That's your impression, but it's inaccurate.
On what issues do you disagree?
Are there any where you agree?

Consider something...
You're describing me personally....not in the most charitable ways.
Despite the invitation to reciprocate, I'm avoiding that.

I am not going to pat you on the head and give you a treat when you do the same with others. Neither of us are saints and I accept that. But I will say your knee jerk reaction to immediately bring Hillary into most discussions involving American politics is becoming irritating and distracting to the OPs others are trying to address.

Rawrr!
No take bait.

Discomfort notwithstanding, Hillary is indeed relevant at times.
My views are what they are, & I'll continue to express them.
I cope with your foibles.
You'll cope with mine.....or not.

Sure, he's embarrassing and a laughing stock, but there's also something very "American" about him as well.
And I think you well put the finger on what the problem is. When we elect someone with his mannerism and "morals" as our leader, that doesn't speak too well for the public at large here.

I have to be honest, this isn't a trump thing, this is an America thing. You guys always butt your way to the head of the line, and stand out front and yell "Look at me!" He's just acting like everyone expects all of you to act.

Stand aside, & let the better man post, Jacques!

Who gets mad at an American for being American? That's like getting mad at a Canadian for holding the door and saying "Sorry" when they are in front of you.
You know what I really hate about Canuckistanians?
They keep inviting me to visit them!
How inconsiderate....they know what our border cops are like to us.

way getting into & out of your miserable excuse for a country!

File assault charges!

Is it really such a slow day for Trump news that this is not only posted, but it gets its own thread?
And not even in the joke section!

Although this is a minor incident, it's quite telling when the POTUS acts quite impolitely with another nation's prime minister and people find such an action not worthy to be criticized.

It's Trump being Trump.
Boorish, childish, rude.....yes indeedie.
But no one was assaulted.
It's like saying....
"Breaking news! Water is wet!"

Oddly, my description of Trump will be taken by many as defending him.
Go figure.
