  • To answer your question Kriya Yoga works with the energy. You will find that all of our internal energy is connected with the breath. We control the energy in our spine with our breath. The goal is to practice Kriya so deeply that breath becomes mind and our breath is dropped and we merge into superconsciousness bliss. The energy we move in our spine enliven and awaken our dormant chakras in our spine. When our chakras become more awakened by the spinal spiritual energy the more our consciousness will emanate and feel God's beautiful qualites. So the breath, energy, and chakras are all connected.
Pantajali found it and devloped the 8 fold path thousands of years ago. You see God foresaw Kriya as a technique that he would give to all those that wanted freedom from maya. Once someone wants God strong enough as you do, God will guide you to this technique. Our astral and physical body is made and destined to have Kriya from the first time we evolved into human being.
You will find that when you recieve Kriya, God made every human body exactly for this technique. When you begin to awaken the dormant spirtual energy in the base of your spine it becomes easier to pull it up in your spine to the spiritual eye. Our spine and brain are the alters of God. The more we can meditate and awaken the magnetism in the spine the more bliss we begin to uncover. As this bliss gets stronger it is a sign that you are getting closer to God. The more we can identify with this bliss the more our consciousness identifies with God instead of our ego. When we turn to God life in essence becomes a battle field upon where we struggle to control our desires that draw our energy away from the spine and the struggle to bring our energy back towards our spine where God's bliss is. You see Kriya is God's gift to help us come to him. It is a timeless technique and the foundation of all true Saints that have found God. It was given ancient rishis many ages ago.
Yes what Yogananda teaches is directly related to those timeless truths in Santana-Dharma. It is the truth behind all religions. I consider it to be my religion. My Guru knows the truth behind everything because he has experienced everything first hand personally, and is why I follow his every word. God has shown him just about every truth there is to know beyond our narrow ego consciousness. Sanatana-Dharma is comprised of all the truth behind everything in existance.
Whatever works best for you my friend! I would call whoever you want to be initiated by and find out when the next initiation is. It would be nice for you to get involved at a local Indiana Ananda community because they will help nurture you growth. Good luck!
Yes Kriyananda does not accept disciples. Yogananda is the Guru for all initiates at SRF and Ananda communites. They are both solely based on Yogananda's teachings. They are almost the exact same thing but Ananda is less strict and more open to people. They seem more personally available to helping in all areas of a disciples life.
Awesome! Honestly I have not read all of those books but I'm always positive they are great. Dont forget the Autobiography of a Yogi. It is his life story. Probably my most dearest and most favorite book of all time. Its what got me to accept him in my heart the first time I read it. After I read it I felt a deep urge to recieve Kriya and it happened three months after that. You are welcome! It will only get better once you recieve Kriya and begin to feel God's bliss within you more and more!
Yes Yogananda will be your Guru, because he is a special avatar. Since he said he will be the last Guru means he will guide whoever gets initiated by his disciples and line of Masters. This is what I mean about him being the most loving Saint I know because some fully enlightened beings dont have that desireless desire to keep reincarnating and helping his new and ready disciples to become free. He and God will guide you to the right actions. The Kriya practice you partake in will allow your mind perceptability to open up and recieve that guidance.
Yes I love that book! Through his words he answers just about any questions you have as a disciple. Its why it makes it easy to be his disciple even though he isn't physically available. He knew many devotees would be drawn to his teachings over the years so him and his direct disciples have written many books on how to live, and answer just about any question you want to know. Eventually you want to get the "Autobiography of a Yogi, by him Conversations with Yogananda by Kriyananda, and the Holy Science by his Guru Sri Yukteswar. All of which answer many many questions about life. The ones you have though do the same.
Yes of course you can set up a shrine. There is no requirement to honor and love those great angelic beings. I noticed you love Krishna obviously. You know Babaji is Krishna right? To honor Babaji and Yogananda you are honoring the ancient and beautiful and classic example of the Guru, disciple between Krishna and Arjuna! Yes when you really want guidance God finds a way to guide you. You never know where that guidance may connect with you. Like I've said God's invisible guiding hand is always behind us. I'm glad you are doing these things. You are very blessed! Let me know how you like the books as you get into them.
I'm glad that you are really sincere about this! It will change your life more than you know. Especially if you are sincere in your practice in which I have no doubt you are. Those are all great great books! I love Man's Eternal Quest! I love them all actually. Have you read Autobiography of a Yogi, by him? Yes noone is lost as God forgives all sin. God knows that maya and our ignorance of him is very deluding and difficult to get out if there is no guidance or Kriya. He cannot help but forgive us, and see us as our true potential. Yogananda makes the search for God beautiful in his words. To really love God he realizes that devotees have to have a loving aspect to reach for. God truly is as he explains it.
Judaism is going great, much better than expected. I am trying to get into reading the Tanakh and maybe later I'll try learning Biblical Hebrew. Also, I am going to try to go to a Hasidic Orthodox shabbat service next weekend. Other than that, I am kind of psyched b/c I almost have 3 of my college apps done :D Anyways, it's nice to hear you are doing well. What is Kirya yoga exactly?
By the way! Happy Birthday!!! Let the introduction of Kriya or rather deeper understanding of it be your birthday gift from God and my line of Gurus! Have a blessed day!
You are very welcome! There are numerous places in the world where you can get Kriya initiation. Ananda communites are all over the U.S.A. There is other communities as well developed by direct disciples of Yogananda. I can tell you more about these places if you are ready to get initiated. Tell me what you think about it after you explore it more on that site. If you need any more guidance please be sure to ask me! God bless!!!
Second page of my reply. The paragraph was to long for one message

I understand that if you are able to internalize your consciousness through love or devotion is a powerful technique too, but my master said Kriya with Devotion is like mathematics it cannot fail to allow you to experience God within more and more in life. Then when you are done meditating it is important to try to hold onto that bliss and the only way to do that is to control your habits by not letting to much energy go out. I.E. to much talking, to much sex, drugs, alchohol, etc... Then when you go to meditate again you have less work to do to bring your energy back in. Here is a site that will explain Kriya Yoga to you. Hope you get alot out of this source. Thanks for allowing me to introduce this God given technique of God realization. It will be the savior of many souls!

    Kriya Yoga - Ananda Sangha
    Hello Gopal Dasa,

I would love to describe Kriya Yoga to you, but I think it would be better if you heard it from a site that not only gives you an overview but gives you an oppurtunity to go into more detail about it. In essence Kriya Yoga is a way of life in which we control our life force or chi through our everyday actions. It is a meditation technique upon we gather our chi in our spine and rise it up through our spine through our chakras and up to the spiritual eye, and then back down through to the base of our spine. It allows us to draw our external consciousness to the realm of spirit within our selves. Then once you do your Kriya you sit in the silence and call to God and this allows you to go deeper within. Without Kriya it is alot harder to withdraw your consciousness within and then your mind wanders or you become restless. Kriya allows deep meditation and possible superconsciousness to occur.
