  • Well it's about time for you to do that. Maybe afterwards I will consume your corpse w/ a side of fries and ketchup.
Well Mugabe is still an awesome left-wing dictator. And I still am hungry! GET ME SOMETHING OR I'LL KILL THOSE IMAGINARY VOICES!!!!1
If you hear voices, tell them I say hello, also can the voices get me a Happy Meal? I'm hungry :p :D
Is "the Emperor" based on a deity of ancient mythology or is it just your own mythos? Does "He" have a name?

So in effect it's more like natural laws, or the shakti of Brahman if there was such a thing?
To be honest, I'm not entirely sure of the concept of the Tao as I've never gotten a great explanation of it, and then there is religious and humanistic Taoism and so on.

Although I can understand your view on not bowing to the divinities. You could do that if you wanted to, though - nobody is stopping you. :)
Ancient Vedic would simply be Hinduism except worship the gods of the Vedas, and it's more polytheistic - there are elements of Brahman in there though, but from it I would guess it would look like Brahman is simply more like the Tao? I dunno exactly.

That would be gods like Indra, Mitra, Surya, Agni, Brahma, and so on. It wouldn't be too far from modern Hinduism to be honest.

Why doesn't Ásatrú have enough discipline for you? What do you define as discipline?
Really, magic offends you? Interesting, although I can see your point about it seeming like you are trying to harness the power of the gods for yourself.

I giggled at your Wiccans being chubby comment, no comment. :D

So without Wicca, are you going to look at the others?

Like, Celtic, Slavic, Ásatrú, or Historical Vedic Religion or a polytheistic type of Hinduism?
However, if polytheism is more your thing, I personally would not object to you being a polytheist, with Brahman like the Tao or a concept as opposed to an entity.

I think the majority of Hindus believe in Brahman, but not all do - I think some Smrtis (not Smarta/Smartis) are polytheists but I could be mistaken. You should ask on the Hinduism DIR, someone more knowledgeable than myself will gladly answer that.

If it's not your cup of tea because of this, though, you could always check out one of the other Indo-European paths, like Slavic, Celtic, Ásatrú, or Wicca. :)
I can understand your concern, but the problem is that you're thinking that because they are manifested aspects, that they are somehow worthless in the spirituality department, or that they are not something that can be related to by us - I would think the contrary: these masks are beautiful, and they all serve a particular power: Ganesha is the remover of Obstacles, Shiva is Brahman's power of Cyclic Dissolution ("Destruction"), Vishnu is Brahman's power of Preservation, Brahmā as Brahman's power of Creation, and so on. The reason such entities are Brahman is because there is only Brahman - nothing is not. That's my personal opinion, others may disagree with me and are welcome to. :)
