Depends. I've known two types of atheists. There are the ones who don't believe in a deity of any sort but have the attitude of "believe whatever you want". And there are the ones who are so adament that there isn't any such thing as deity that they are prone to think and say that all religion and supernatural belief is bunk and those who believe are stupid. So really, it depends on the person. Like any other. Would I date the first kind? Sure, I guess, if they didn't make me feel weird about my practices. The second? Not a chance.

As a non-theist, I didn't vote in the poll, but if I did, I'd have to vote "no" - my wife won't let me date anybody, including atheists.
I see saying you'd date a nice atheist as a way of saying you'd date an atheist. If you voted "no", that'd be like saying you'd never date any atheist. From your previous message, it sounds like you'd fit nicely into "yes".Well, I would have voted if there was a third option. But as there isn't and I can't say yes or no to all, I can't affect the poll one way or the other.

As a Christian, my potential wife's religious beliefs are the most important thing to me. It doesn't matter if she is otherwise the perfect woman for me, she just won't do if she isn't a dedicated Christian. I'm not a picky guy and I could be happy with a wife who was a terrible cook, had a horrible sense of fashion, is undereducated, forgetful, always late, or any other similar things, but never a non-Christian one.
