The psychology of Patriarchate: why strong, heterosexual men are the enemy

Soandso

ᛋᛏᚨᚾᛞ ᛋᚢᚱᛖ
Absolutely not.
It has to do with heterosexual man.
Because there has been a scandal in the Senate, in a hearing room. Sex acts in a room of the building that is considered the temple of democracy in the entire West.
And I have seen no indignation. No outrage.
And the explanation is very clear: because it deals with two homosexual men.

Which situation are you referencing?

I can't say since I've never watched Italian TV

That's some Italian TV.
Given how exadurated our television is here in the states, though, I would assume that anything I see wouldn't reflect much about Italian society accurately (without you telling me otherwise, of course). That's just due to the point of reference I understand given to what I'm exposed to here.
I can imagine.

Honestly I think in the United States, there is a serious psychological issue.
What I mean is that this conviction that women are all victims, because there is still a strong form of Patriarchate.
And the emblem of Patriarchate is the heterosexual man who adores women.

There is also a veiled phallocentrism that is unconscious that has been transforming into an obsession with men's sex drives.
This obsession has led feminists and women to believe that all straight men are potential rapists, because they own the phallus.

And this undermines and belittles women and their sex drives. Women have a vagina, and so they have sex drives, they do desire men.
They are not victims. They choose the men they like and they even fight for the men they like.

There is no Patriarchy.
What do you know about the U.S.? Do you live here? You don't, and you've got some strange ideas about those of us who do.

Ahhhh ok. I think people don't care because he was just a staffer. He didn't hold any real power and was promptly fired. I think had this been a man and a woman it would have gotten a similar response, really. Now, if this guy was more powerful and had enemies that wanted to drag his name through the mud... We might see a different event unfold, imo

Ahhhh ok. I think people don't care because he was just a staffer.
It's not about what he was.
It's about the place. How that was possible without surveillance cameras recording it and security service preventing it.
Why they did that. In that place.
Why they published the video on the internet.

In my eyes it all sounds and looks a deliberate profanation of the temple of democracy, where senators work for the American people.

In the privacy of their own house they can do whatever they please.

He didn't hold any real power and was promptly fired.
If I have sex in the Italian Senate, aka Palazzo Madama, I am jailed after two seconds.
Anyone. Heterosexuals, homosexuals.
I think had this been a man and a woman it would have gotten a similar response, really.
I am sorry. I don't believe that.
An army of angry feminists would have chased the man and skinned him alive.
Especially if he was a senator.

Greed and stupidity are our true enemy. And in the US, anyone can become the face of these, ... but it is mostly men. Males are genetically programmed by a long evolutionary history to respect, honor, and covet the twin traits of greed and (violent) stupidity. Just as women have evolved to be attracted to them for it.

I don't think Americans view their political system with the same reverence you seem to. We tend to look at our politicians as corrupt, lying, self serving elites. While some of the more patriotic people may feel reverence towards these specific places, more Americans tend to feel reverence to the constitution itself rather than these places of office

Keep in mind, the articles that do cover this in this amount of depth do so with the intent to discredit democrats and make them look bad. More biased and exadurated coverage to add to the narrative. The guy was caught, dealt with, and fired. It is what it is

You know, I'm not quite sure what the rules about that here are

Err... Why would feminists care if a consenting man and woman have sex? Even if it's in public like this? There was no power dynamic of someone powerful vs. an underling. It was just a staffer, as far as I could tell, and their lover. Maybe if their lover was a janitor there might be some power dynamic, heh

It consists in being obsessed with man's sex drives, whose exasperation sometimes (not always) leads many feminists to believe and to affirm that all men are potential rapists, just because they have the phallus.
Yeah, no, sounds like a made-up conspiracy theory. Or possibly something that happens (understandably) to abuse victims. I don't know what on earth gives you the impression this is some sort of widespread thing here. Sounds like made up nonsense to me.

Miss. I am unmarried.

I have explained it in the OP.

I'd say we're more obsessed with women's sex drives over here... one set of folks insisting women have all gone wild, and the other set dead set that women are sexually repressed(and then a whole lot of people who quietly don't worry about it).

Honestly, I am just an observer.
I am surely wrong, so I am just trying to understand certain psychological dynamics.

Err... Why would feminists care if a consenting man and woman have sex? Even if it's in public like this? There was no power dynamic of someone powerful vs. an underling. It was just a staffer, as far as I could tell, and their lover. Maybe if their lover was a janitor there might be some power dynamic, heh
Thank you.
Very reassuring, and informative.

Fomented by tens of videos like this. I'd say, the average American feminist.
Not watching a random nobody video. What do the data say - the scholarship - about the "average" American Feminist? Spoiler - it's complicated, from what little I've looked into it. I'm not a scholar of women and gender studies. Though with the backsliding of women's rights these past few years I've been more interested in looking into it.
What victims?

Sigh... I was hoping I didn't need to spell it out for you. Rape and sexual assault victims. Anyone who has been brutally traumatized such that they would have very good reason to be suspicious of anyone who might inflict upon them additional trauma. It can develop into a sort of PTSD and overactive startle reflexes but can also entail lifelong chronic anxiety and/or depression. I've known people who have more or less had to deal with it their entire lives. It sucks. It is the most heinous of all violent crimes.

No Patriarchy?
Women are victims of a system that requires them to paint their faces, shave their legs and armpits, wear high heels, submit to inferior compensation, among other humiliations - all as a way of marginalizing them by insisting that their value is dependent on their sexuality and submission. If that ain’t patriarchy, what the hell is?

It doesn't matter. I will tell what it says. A woman says that statistically, the 90% of women, in the US, have experienced some sort of "harassment" from men, which includes unwanted advances, and rape, or other things. One out of four have experienced sexual assault.
Is she right?
Sigh... I was hoping I didn't need to spell it out for you. Rape and sexual assault victims.
A small percentage. At least, here in my country.

I would like to tell something to American women. I am very serious. And it's my First Amendment right to say this:
nobody forces you to date men. If you think men are a potential threat, do not date them or befriend them.

I am a heterosexual woman and I love men. My boyfriends were all gentlemen and courteous.
And I am not ashamed of saying that I like men, especially their sex drives.
